Las Chimeneas is a private detached villa in Rancho Rio Verde, Almunecar. It has been furnished to a very high standard, designed with the main living area on the first level to maximise the amazing panoramic views to the sea and coastal headland. The spacious lounge dining room opens onto a very large terrace area. On the second level two double bedrooms have private balconies and the twin room over looks a traditional Spanish terrace. The sheltered pool and garden areas benefit from sun all day. This tranquil location is 5 minutes drive from the bustling year-round town centre.
Bedroom 1 & 2 are spacious with large, fully fitted wardrobes. The en-suite bathrooms have Hans Grohe rain showers and beautiful marble tiling. Bedroom 3 has an open-plan style dressing area. All bedrooms have air conditioning/heating units.

Fantastic kitchen fitted to a high specification with a Samsung American fridge/freezer; Bosche dishwasher; Pyrolytic fan assisted oven and ceramic touch control hob with extractor hood. Wine and drinks chiller. Utility island.

Towels (except beach towels) and bed linen provided. End of stay cleaning/laundry is included but a charge will be made for anything considered excessive. The pool will be cleaned and maintained on a weekly basis. Pool net available for skimming.

As the property is situated on a hillside, there are several stairs and is therefore not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Small children are okay but will need supervision.
Shaded main terrace has a range-style gas barbecue; an outdoor rattan-style dining table with eight comfortable chairs. Small drinks table. The Spanish, traditional terrace has a unique brick chimney barbecue, a circular table with 4 chairs. Sun loungers, deck chairs and large parasol to 10m private pool and terrace. Electricity: A total of 150 electricity units per week is included with each rental. Excess units will be charged at standard Spanish rates

About the area
A variety of beaches are only 5 minutes drive away. The water is crystal clear and holiday makers would sea swim from May to late October. Most beaches enjoy excellent Chiringito casual dining facilities; there are palm-fringed promenade beaches as well as secluded coves.
Baviera Nr Torrox - 18 hole course is 30 minutes drive away.
Los Mariscos, Salobrena - 18 hole Links course is 20 minutes away.
Anoreta, Nr Rincon de la Victoria (best value and very friendly staff).
Sierra Nevada Ski Resort near Granada is approximately 1.5 hours away - perfect for those who would like a sun and ski holiday. The ski village is well maintained and suitable for all ability ranges.
Special Interest Holidays
The beaches of La Herradura and Marina del Este are two of the finest areas for Scuba diving; local dive centres offer a variety of courses. Alternatively,wander around the marina and hire a catarmaran for a few days. Wind surfing and Paragliding are available in La Herradura. For those who would like a 'winter stay' Spanish language schools offer courses for all levels.
How to get there
Malaga (most major airlines) and Granada airports are serviced by excellent motorway networks and is approximately 1 hour drive away. Car hire is essential and there are lots of reputable companies to choose from. Please contact for advice if necessary.
Almunecar is 1.5 km from the house. Frigliana, a typical white village is 15km and Nerja Caves 10km. Alhambra Palace and Granada is 60km
There are 3 large Supermarkets in Amunecar - 2 Mercadonas and 1 Lidl. In addition, the daily markets at Almunecar and La Herradura stock fresh vegetables, meat, fresh fish and seafood.

"A little bit of paradise"
Our week at Las Chimeneas was in the middle of our three week vacation in Spain and Paris. The property is just as it appears in the pictures and the amenities on the property and in the neighouring towns were fabulous. Lots to do in Almunecar, Solembreno, Nerja and La Herradurra but the option of lazing around the villa and its pool was one we loved too. The beach in La Herradurra was particularly pleasant and the caves at Nerja a must. Villa was quiet and very comfortable - the drive up to the Villa is not for the faint of heart. Owners and their property manager were wonderful to deal with. I would highly recommend this property. Accomodated 3 couples very nicely with grand vistas of the Mediterranean, overlooking the pool. Access to the pool would be a challenge for some with mobility limitations. A car is a must have.
Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children and romantic getaway
About the Owner
Roger and Jane have owned Las Chimeneas for 5 years; they found this unique area on the Costa Tropical 12 years ago and have been enjoying holidays there ever since. Almunecar is authentically Spanish; it is a working town - hot in summer and winter sunshine and rich blue skies in the quieter months. One of our favourite pastimes is to visit the popular Spanish plazas where traditional Spanish tapas is served. We have jobs in the Uk but use the house when we can. Every time we go we 'pinch' ourselves because we never fail to be amazed by the beautiful scenery. We never tire of it!

Why this location?
We love Almunecar and La Herradura because it is a favourite destination for Spanish friends and families; they often re-unite for the festivals at Easter and Summer. It is a vibrant, bustling place in the summer months but quite tranquil during the out-of-season times. The area boasts a great variety of bars and restaurants as well as some of the most lovely coves and bays. We are surrounded by stunning mountain ranges, close to the Alpujarras and the cities of Malaga and Granada. There is an excellent bus service that will take you further afield to places like Cordoba and Seville.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
The property is just five minutes drive away from beaches and the town centre. It is one of a number of unique, individually styled villas on the Rancho Rio Verde; quiet yet local. The large swimming pool is not over-looked.
