Chalet Arnou is a detached traditional wooden chalet perched high in the picturesque mountain village resort of Vaujany. The WiFi equipped chalet is perfectly equipped to provide luxury catered and self catered accommodation for a wonderful winter ski holiday or summer mountain experience. Sauna, jacuzzi and wood burner. Conveniently placed for four restaurants, the supermarket and the kindergarten all within a 2 minute walk. Excellent views of the waterfall and down the valley. Vaujany is a wonderful winter and summer resort. In winter the large cable car gives direct access to 2,800m and access to the massive Alpe D'Heuz ski area as well as the Montfrais ski bowl with children ski schools, restaurants and snack bar. In the summer the spectacular village is a well locatedi centre for hiking and mountain biking with the famous mega avalanche and the VTT network all accessed from the resort. It is also a base for road cycle racing and canoeing and wind surfing are all possible nearby.
Winter dates are based on Sunday changeover. This is a much easier day to travel with cheaper flights and much less traffic. We can try accommodate Saturday changes if required.
4 double bedrooms two with double beds - 2 with king size beds which can be modified to become twin single beds. All bedrooms are en-suite. The cosy rooms are attractively furnished and equipped with flat screen TVs. 3 have sunny south facing balconies.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite toilet, sink and shower.
The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hob, oven, kettle, microwave and coffee maker.
There is a generous basement with acces to a washing machine and offering heated storage for boots and ski equipment.
At the top floor of the chalet and consists of a single vaulted space incorporating the fitted kitchen, oak dining table & chairs, 2 corner sofas all that seat 10. Feature wood burner, chill zone with large flat screen TV. Large balcony with furniture.
A comfortable double sofabed is available within the sejour to accomodate 2 additional guests.
Towels and full bedlinen for up to 10 people are provided.

Notes on prices
Summer prices are based on self catered occupancy of the whole chalet. We can also offer airport transfers in our own minbus and tailored adventure and relaxation holiday packages. Winter prices are based on week long exclusive sole occupancy of the chalet by 8 adults enjoying hosted fully catered accomodation including choice of breakfasts, afternoon tea with cakes & three course dinner with wine. Please contact us for details on prices for smaller groups, shorter breaks or prices in Euros.
We ideally offer Sunday morning departure time and Sunday afternoon arrival as the norm. This is because flights are generally much cheaper and traffic levels much quieter then Saturday. However we can try and accommodate Saturday arrivals so please ask.

About the area
About three hours to the south of France.
Golf courses at Grenoble and Uriage are 45 minutes away.
Vaujany is part of the vast Alpe d'heuz ski area. Vaujany itself has its own ski area at Montfrais offering blue runs, snow park, debutant arena and slope as well as a cafeteria and excellent restaurant. A blue run takes you back to the village. Thanks to Vaujany making millions out of a hyro electric scheme the village has its own direct cable car to 2050m and onto 2800m high offering a mix of red runs. A further short cable takes you right up to 3,330m and the chance to do what is reputedly the longest black run in Europe - The Sarenne which drops down into Aple d'heuz. Take another chair and you can then ski right back down the excellent 'La Fare' black run to 1,200m below the village of Vaujany.
Vaujany has its own Ecole Ski Francais and ski school for all ages and abilities. All levels of skiing is available when staying at Vaujany from loads of family friendly blues to spectacular long hard runs for the most experienced skier.

During the summer the resort is well suited for alpine adventure holidays and is ideal for the Alpe d'Heuz mountain bike trails. The hub of the village and the main lift to the hills is just a stone's throw away, placing us in the perfect position for you to get the most from your holiday.

Grenoble Airport is an hour and 5 mins away - car hire is available.
Lyon Airport is an hour and 45 mins away - car hire is available.
Grenoble rail station is about an hour away and has a car hire facility.
On your doorstep - Vaujany with swimming centre with flume, sauna and jacuzzi, shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket.
5km - Allemont with outdoor swimming, climbing wall, sailing, canoeing and wind surfing.
45 mins - Grenoble with city centre shopping, culture and museums.

A comfortable chalet, with an unusually spacious lounge/dining area on the top floor. (Although we didn't have children with us, it would be well suited to a family holiday.) James and Whitney looked after us very well, in particular, being prepared to go out of their way to help us out. (One of our group struggled to walk in ski boots.) The well planned village escalators meant it was easy to get to & from the ski lift, which provides excellent access into the Alpe d'Huez ski area. I would happily return to this chalet.
