Villa in La Baffardiere, Nr. Le Champs St Pere, Vendee, France
About the area
In this area we are spoiled for choice when it comes to beaches. Our nearest beach is Longeville, which is approximately 20 minutes drive from the villa, is great for water sports and very safe for young children. Beautiful, unspoilt beaches also at Bourgenay, La Tranche-sur-mer, Les Sables and many others. Our favourite is 'La Terrier', which is part of the stretch at La Tranche and has a fantastic surfing beach, great beach bars, water sports and is never too crowded.
For golfers there are excellent courses at Domangere in Nesmy (approximately 15 minutes) - golf course with the highest slope in France and at Port Bourgenay (approximately 30 minutes) - one championship standard course combining sea, forest and views from above the marina and also a second 18 hole pitch and put.
How to get there
Both the airports at La Rochelle (45 minutes) and Nantes (1 hour), are well serviced with flights from the UK, namely by the budget airlines Ryanair and Flybe. The house can be reached by motorway in under 3 hours from St Malo (4 hours Caen), into which Brittany Ferries have frequent sailings from Portsmouth and others We can offer guests traveling with Brittany Ferries a discount. Please contact us for further information and advice about traveling to the Vendee.
Sailing, fishing, canoeing, horse riding and go-carting are all available locally and a Zip Wire Adventure Park is situated in the nearby Indian Forest. It is only a short walk from the villa down to the River Yon which also provides great fishing and cycling, with picnic areas and the local wine trail clearly signposted.

This is the 3rd time out of 4 years that we have stayed at this villa and it hasn't disappointed. If you want somewhere peaceful but still within reach of tourist areas then this is the place for you. The villa is very well equipped and maintained to a high standard. Natalie the house manager provides an excellent service if needed. We are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Lovely, clean villa well equipped and beautiful. Amazing pool and terrace areas. We went to beach and towns advised by owners which were great but always wanted to get back to the villa and that amazing pool!!! Good place for holidaying with people with special needs, very roomy and well laid out especially the bathrooms. Owners very friendly and helpful. Will return again.

We got back last night and wanted to tell you what a fantastic holiday we had. You've decorated and furnished the villa so beautifully, it's the nicest place we've ever stayed, so much so we would love to go again next year. We've never booked a holiday the day we got back before, but we all loved it so much. - S.Thompson, Herts
Fabulous hospitality offered us in respect of the villa. Everything we could have wanted was available and we felt very much at home. The location was amazing as it covered rural, sea, and city. A perfect spot. - Elaine and Dave Wilkinson, Buckingham.
Quite simply perfect in every way. - A&S Beckett, Wigan.
We had a fantastic week at this beautiful holiday home. It is so welcoming and feels like home - I really could live here. Only down side is that the house is so nice we hardly left! Had fantastic days at the beach and the sun shone every day- beautiful. Would love to come back here very soon. - Thornton Family, Huddersfield.

Why this location?
We chose to buy a holiday home in this area because we love the combination of peaceful, unspoiled countryside alongside miles of beautiful uncrowded beaches. It's the perfect place to relax, but we also like being able to dip into the more 'touristy' areas when the fancy takes us! The villa is where we spend most of our holiday time and so is furnished and equipped to a very high standard.
