Built in the 1700s the Gardener's House is set into the old Walled Garden in the stunning grounds of Arniston House, a William Adam Stately Home. A secluded, picturesque two storey house with wood burning stove and open fire for winter or glass patio doors that open onto the walled garden for summer. Nearby there is Vogrie Country Park, Rosslyn Chapel, Temple Village, The Scottish Mining Museum and, for biking enthusiasts, Glentress Biking Trails all within easy access. Local pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops and spa are all a short drive away. An 11 mile trip to Edinburgh’s first class art galleries and museums, the capital’s eclectic mix of restaurants and bars plus its boutique shopping experience all adds up to a great day out. Alternatively fishing, horse riding, estate tours or a private tour of the house can be booked on request.

"Great place to stay"
A lovely house in a beautiful setting nest to the stately home - which is really understated. Private garden ideal for kids and to birdwatchers. Having free reign to explore the stately home estate and gardens at your leisure ideal for adults and kids. We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 4 children, and the house is large with the open fire and the free wifi and large TV providing constant interest as well as the woodpeckers visiting the bird feeder. Reasonably close to the park and ride, but also the bus from the centre of edinburgh terminates in the village with a brisk walk up the lane meaning you can make it without having to pay for a taxi if you dont want to take the car on a night out and don't mind a walk. The owners are based on the estate so are close at hand if there are any problems. Made to feel very welcome and would recommend to groups of all ages.
Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children and romantic getaway
