Just as it says on the tin...

We stayed for two weeks and loved every minute of it. The gite was exactly as described and the enthusiastic comments of previous reviewers were all true for us as well.
The gite has everything you could want for self-catering - many is the time we have had to bring all the basics with us. Anne makes a point of supplying things like tea, coffee, oil and the like, which was a great help. We also loved being able to pick fresh veg and herbs right outside the door.
The bed was indeed very comfortable and we can well believe that the house would be pleasantly cool in hot weather, although the weather we had, although warm, was not hot enough to test it.
The view really was a constant delight - Cezanne would have loved to paint it.
Special mention should be made of the wonderful array of brochures, town maps etc - a huge help.
Tim and Anne were very friendly, as mentioned already, and couldn't have been more solicitous when one of us needed dental help!
A wonderful holiday.

A little peace of French heaven

  • 5 out of 5
We've stayed with Anne and Tim a couple of times now and absolutely adore it. The cottage is just perfect. Cool on hot days, all the kitchen necessities to cook whatever you'd like, a super comfy bed and a proper shower with decent pressure. Anne and Tim are such amazing hosts. We were welcome to their vege garden (they've got great green thumbs) and they spoilt us rotten with some lovely homemade treats. The location is perfectly placed- we spent some days exploring the local vineyards, and another on a longer road trip to Carcassone. Albi is a sweet town and we always leave feeling refreshed.

Peace and Relaxation

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed at Tim and Anne's delightful cottage for the first week of our holiday before travelling on further south. They were very friendly and welcoming hosts without being intrusive. As we had stayed in the area and seen the tourist sights before, (a visit to Albi is a must and the cathedral there is mind-blowing), we just wanted peace and quiet and great weather to relax in with nice rural views and that was what we had. The cottage was immaculate and spotless providing everything one needs for a perfect holiday. The bedroom, with loads of interesting books, made a beautifully cool retreat when the sun became a bit too hot. We would certainly be happy to stay there again.

A little bit of heaven

  • 5 out of 5
This has to be one of the most relaxing holidays we have spent. The location was just gorgeous with views over the rolling countryside. It was fascinating watching the farmers go about their daily tasks. Ann and Tim were the most generous of hosts and we wanted for nothing. They were unobtrusive yet friendly and welcoming. The gite was beautifully appointed and the outside was equipped with sun loungers, barbecue and tables and chairs.

Even though we were only a few minutes away from the beautiful city of Albi, the site is totally rural and you would never know there was so much going on only a few minutes away.

A moment of calm

  • 4 out of 5
A hidden retreat amid rolling hills and fields of sunflowers, wheat and corn. Sitting down to eat al fresco each evening was an absolute delight, the view was green and golden to the horizon. Just what the Doctor ordered for those of you caught up in the hectic and daily grind of the modern western lifestyle. We used the Gite as a base to explore the Tarn valley and ride our motorbikes on amazing roads and through classic Midi-Pyrennee villages and towns. We visited some beautiful and unspoiled remote areas as well as the traditional tourist attractions like Carcasonne, all were well worth a look. Most of all we looked forward to our evenings at the Gite, preparing locally grown produce for either a barbeque or salad. Many grateful thanks to Anne and Tim for all the fresh veg from the garden at the Gite. They were wonderful hosts. The Gite was well appointed and maintained with all the facilities as in the listing as well as the bonus of a well stocked shed with recliners, parasol and full barbeque materials! There were many books and tourist brochures to choose from and we made use of many of these as well as adding some additional ones for future guests. The nearby city of Albi alone gave us much to do for two days with its astounding cathederal and Toulouse-Lautrec Museum. We have recommended the Gite to our family and friends already. A delightful escape to the country.
