Sleeps 15 (7 bedrooms)
Built in 1745, Inglethorpe Hall was once a substantial North Norfolk private estate and residence. Still set in thirty acres of private grounds and parkland, it offers exceptional views across the Wash and is just one of a few Grade II* listed Country Houses in England. This fascinating and historic building has just undergone an extensive three year restoration and is now ready to open its doors for rental by the week as a holiday house. It is also available for one off events - making Inglethorpe Hall the perfect place for the wedding of your dreams, the party of a lifetime, or simply a relaxing weekend away. It has also recently been featured in the Guardian Travel as a recommended property for 2012.
Ideally positioned on the beautiful and undulating North Norfolk coast, the Hall lies on the boundary of the Royal Estate at Sandringham, just one of the amazing historic houses to visit in the area, and within easy reach of the beaches at Hunstanton, Brancaster and Holkham, the Market Towns of Fakenham, Swaffham and Kings Lynn as well as the idyllic villages of Snettisham, Burnham Market and Holt.
Interior and Grounds:
The Hall itself sleeps 15 but we can accommodate up to 30 people at a time when all the holiday cottages within the estate are included. Inside we have two stunning drawing rooms that have the capacity for up to eighty - and the York stone terrace that leads off them boasts sublime views out to the sea making it an original and unique setting to create the event of your dreams.
Alternatively it's possible to rent the whole house for you and your family and friends for a holiday - by the week or month. The house in itself can accommodate 15, and includes a large kitchen with an Aga, separate dining room with a log burning stove, a dedicated TV room (all 42 inches of it) and one spacious sitting room. Most bedrooms are equipped with a TV and some have a DVD. We have an extensive DVD Library available to our guests. There is also a Wii and PS3.
Master Bedroom: This is a fabulous double bedroom with views over parkland as far as the sea (the Wash). It is furnished with antique furniture including a four-poster bed as well as a TV/DVD. It has a spacious en suite bathroom with bath and shower.
Green Room: With west-facing views over the park as far as the sea (the Wash), this double bedroom is decorated in a classic and opulent way. The large en suite bathroom is on a split-level with bath and rose-head shower. Equipped with a TV/DVD.
Jack's Room: A lovely airy room with a hand-painted four-poster antique bed and a substantial en suite bathroom. The view is over the surrounding parkland and ancient trees. TV/DVD.
Baraís Room: A nicely proportioned double bedroom with a cast iron bath and sink at one end. A little eccentric but very comfortable! The loo is just a few yards down the corridor (shared with Butlerís Room). Views are over the lawn and the surrounding parkland.
Butlerís Room: Double bedroom with south and east windows looking over the park. Bathroom directly across the corridor (shared with Baraís Room)
North Wing Family Suite: With views westward over the park towards the sea, the family suite comprises a large twin room, a double room and a large family bathroom with freestanding cast iron bath and separate shower. All rooms are adjoining which make it perfect for family use. TV in twin room.
