    Property description

    Casa Folias is situated in a residential area of the main town in Puerto Del Carmen and is 150 yards from the main beach. Close by are restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket but enough distance away to ensure peace. The villa is enclosed. Inside there is a patio area from which you will have immediate sea views and a Chimera and dining area. There is also a private heated swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols that allow you to relax. Inside there is a spacious living room with dining area, plus TV/DVD with satellite. There are two double bedrooms, one of which is downstairs, each with en-suite - one of which has a private patio area, plus two additional twin rooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Additional toilet with shower is directly off the swimming pool.

    The master bedroom has a double bed with built in wardrobe.
    Bedroom 2 has twin beds with built in wardrobe.
    Bedroom 3 has twin beds with built in wardrobe.
    Bedroom 4 is in the lower part of the house and has a double bed and built in wardrobe.

    En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with bath/shower, wc etc. En-suite to bedroom 2 with bath/shower, wc etc. Additional toilet with wc and shower; this is directly off pool area.

    Fully equipped kitchen consists of oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge/freezer.

    Living Rooms:
    Large spacious living room with a 2 three seater sofa and a 2 two seater sofa, dining table and chairs, coffee table, TV/DVD with satellite channels, music system and book shelf.

    Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service:
    A maid service is provided once per week. Bedlinen is changed weekly for bookings for 2 weeks or longer. For guests staying 10 days, a change of bedlinen and maid service can be arranged at a charge.

    Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Hob/Stove, Iron, Microwave, Oven, Washing Machine.

    The villa is on a slight slope but is only 100 yards from the bottom of the hill.

    Patio doors lead from the living room onto terrace where you can enjoy the Chimera (for cooking pizzas outside) and dining facilities and immediate sea views. Side door of living room leads directly onto private heated pool area where sun loungers and parasols are provided. We ask guests when outside to be aware that the villa is in a residential area and therefore to be aware of our neighbours.

    Important notes on accommodation

    The villa is equipped with iron, ironing board, free standing fans and hair dryer. We thank guests for not smoking inside the villa. Please note that bookings are not available for hen or stag parties. Please note that the villa is not suitable for children under school age. The villa is on 2 levels with a double bedroom in the lower part of the villa.

    Notes on prices
    Prices for the villa are based on four people sharing. Prices based on 6 sharing will be charged £75 per week for each extra guest. Prices based on 7/8 sharing will be charged £100 per week for each extra guest. A 20% deposit of the total price is payable immediately with the remainder payable six weeks before the booking date. Please note NO 10 day bookings in July or August.

    Changeover day
    The preferred day is Thursday but this is flexible. Normal check out time is 10am and check in time is 2pm. For guests arriving early or departing late check for access or staying on at the villa.

    Booking notes
    20% deposit payable within 7 days of booking and remainder to be paid six weeks prior to booking. In the event of last minute bookings whole amount is immediately payable. We require the names and ages of all guests. Please note that the villa is not suitable for children under school age.
    2014 prices are £700 per week low season; £750 for Easter & October Weeks and £800 for last week in June-1st week September £750. Please note NO 10 day bookings in July or August.

    "mr cotham"

    We have just returned from this villa and what a big disappointment it was. Although all the rooms was ok there was let down after letdown in each, we spent the first week blocking holes up and spraying every room to try and keep cockroaches out. The lounge was ok for relaxing in but the TV didn’t have a decent channel on it no bbc or itv. Cockroaches in the bedrooms especially the one downstairs which has a mesh on the window (but a big square cut out of it, for any thing to come in, for some reason) But at least they was fairly clean. With nice comfy beds. The downstairs and upstairs ensuite bathrooms , left much to be desired. There was cockroaches in them both. And upstairs ensuite stunk of urine. So there was obviously a problem with the drains. But when we had sprayed them and blocked holes up around the downstairs bath. It seemed to help. But we did not shower in there. Decided to use shower room upstairs off the pool area. As this was only bathroom we did not see cockroaches in. The lighting around the eating area outside was very poor and we had to buy candles and an extension lead to plug a lamp in. as the darkness encouraged cockroaches to come out all night. Which meant we could not sit out in peace on a lovely hot evening THE WORST BIT The noise from people parking there cars, chatting and letting there dogs bark, urinate and poo all day and night on the derelict site next door. Which is right outside the basement bedroom. Which means you can never open the curtains in there. So you cannot see properly The site it was also a constant source for fly’s to come over the wall and literally crawl all over us. So forget napping while sunbathing. Or eating outside The site is also used as a dumping ground, by people living in the area, for everything including mattresses. Tree’s and any household rubbish even dirty nappies were left there, the smell was awful. Hence the constant flies and cockroaches THE BEST BITS The pool was very nice, lovely and warm The kitchen is very user friendly Everything is close by And Elaine the manageress was always there at the end of the phone (especially when the motor on the pool filter system broke). Very quickly fixed. I would advise anyone to stay well clear of this villa. The best way to describe it, is nice if you are used to livin

    Lanzarote has cockroaches. These resourceful creatures manage to get into places where they are not wanted. If a property has been fumigated, then unfortunately for the insects, they quickly die. At particular times of the year and after certain spells of weather, a few make it past the fumigation barrier. We were alerted through our management team, about this guest seeing one or two cockroaches on the premises. We strongly reject the accusation that the property was overrun with the insects. We explained the villa is fumigated every year as is standard practice, also sprayed by the cleaners as is their practice, just before her arrival. We offered to reimburse her for the cost of the additional repellants she felt she needed to buy. She did not accept. It was unfortunate for there to be any visible cockroaches. We have never had a guest demand compensation for seeing a cockroach on the property. En-suites: we explained Spanish and British plumbing systems are different, occasional odours can easily be dispelled by flushing the toilet which she confirmed they did. The ‘dumping area’ referred to is a small well-used car park. If one of the residents had placed something there, this would be taken away quickly by the efficient cleansing department. We don’t have control over our neighbours’ behaviour or noise from surrounding properties. Our villa is 150metres from the main seaside front. Restaurants shops and bars are within easy walking distance. There are 7 or 8 lights around the 10m x 2.5m pool area. This guest made a decision to buy an extension lead to take one of our lamps outside. We offered to reimburse her for it if she had left it at the property. No-one before has said they were unable to sunbathe around the pool due to flies. Lanzarote has flies. We don’t have any control over them, as we don’t over any flies on the beach or the ones in cafes or restaurants. We addressed this guest’s complaints over many emails. We offered her reimbursement for expenses. She posted this review instead. We had a booking directly after this guest and to date we have received NO complaint. We enjoyed staying there the week before the complainant. Our management team do their utmost to make sure our property is clean and tidy and in good repair for our guests.

    Me, my partner and two friends have just returned from a 10 day stay in Calle Folias. We were a little bit worried after reading the first review on this villa; however, I can honestly say they must not have stopped in the same place as this villa was absolutely fantastic. All the bedrooms are great sizes the excellent storage space and plenty of hangers!! The living room / dining room was massive with two 3 seater sofas and a 2 seater sofa. The pictures does not do the villa justice at all as physical appearance is 100 times better. We had a visit from the property manager on out second day to ensure we had settles in okay and didn't have any problems or issues. The pool area I plenty big enough with a big pool also. The pool is heated which was a lovely change as it was actually warm! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone of any ages as you are smack bang in the middle of the strip but up a slightly moderate hill so there is no noise what so ever. Whether you are going as a group of friends, romantic getaway, families with young children / teenagers. You could not get close enough to the beach and there is also a Spar which is less than a 5 minute walk away.

    "Excellent Villa"

    7 of us have just returned from 9-days at Casa Folias and i wanted to write a review which isn't something i usually do. This villa is fantastic. The location is great and although very close to the main strip we did not hear anything once we had gone to bed. The pool and patio area is large enough and the pool is heated, i know that in the canaries this usually means tepid but this pool is genuinely hot. The villa is clean and plenty of space for everyone. The only negative i can find is that the kitchen is a little dated but then you don't go on hols to spend your time in the kitchen! A helpful lady from the management company met us on arrival and very swiftly resolved a problem when we telephoned her a few days later. We had a towel change midway through our trip. Beds v comfortable and bathrooms clean with good showers. I would definitely return and recommend this villa to others.

    "Happy with our stay"

    We were worried about visiting the villa after the negative feedback given by one holidaymaker but we were more than happy with our stay in Cala Folias. The location is excellent and we were not bothered by any noise. The villa is clean and the pool is cleaned twice a week. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery etc and there is a dishwasher (we didn't use) and washing machine. We would definitely return to the villa.

    Having just returned from spending six days at the Villa following being re-assured by the owners that recent updates had been carried out and a new management company engaged, I am pleased to say we found the property clean and comfortable, we experienced no problem with noise, although the Villa is in very close proximity to other properties. The photo of the outside of the property including the pool area does give the impression of it being larger than it is, but was adequate for our needs and a person visited mid week to clean and maintain the pool. To sum up the property was clean, comfortable and convenient for the seafront and if we are looking for a mid priced Villa again I would certainly consider going back to the property.

    My husband, son, dog and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. We are very down to earth and enjoy family life. We have a busy schedule at home and therefore enjoy the complete break when we go to our villa in Lanzarote; we hope you will too.

    Why this location?

    We rented our house from a friend based in Lanzarote and fell in love with it straight away and when we heard it was up for sale we put a bid in immediately. We have never come across, in all of our travels, a sea so safe to swim in (no jelly fish to worry about) but the sea at Puerto Del Carmen is just that and that was the main reason for buying the property. The villa is in close proximity to everything you need while on holiday and there is no need to drive, only to relax. If you want to travel while in Lanzarote the buses are also at the end of the street If you want to go on excursions these too are organised by people situated on the main road at the end of our street.

    What are the unique benefits of the property?

    My husband loves the fact that he can go to the end of the street to have a swim in the sea. I love the fact that at the end of the street it has wide pavements with palm trees and this gives you a real sense of being on holiday, of having a real break from your normal environment. My son loves being able to swim in our heated pool any time he likes or going to play on the beach. If you want to eat out you have to travel no further than the end of the street to find a wide selection of restaurants. All in all its a great place to enjoy a holiday
