    Property description

    Casa Vialba is a 60 acre private estate in the secluded Carpina valley surrounded by unspoilt Umbrian countryside. From the estate the only visible buildings are those of the distant village of Montone 9 km away. It offers its guests total peace, tranquillity and relaxation yet is only a short drive from Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and all that Umbria has to offer. Florence and Siena are only 1.1/2 hours away.

    Olive House

    Olive House sleeps 4 is built on two floors and measures 1800 square feet.
    Ground Floor: Luxury fitted kitchen, dining room and living room with see-through fireplace, double bedroom and full en-suite bathroom equipped with Jacuzzi bath. There is also a guest bathroom and small utility space with washing machine.
    First Floor: double bedroom and en-suite bathroom equipped with Jacuzzi bath.

    Olive House has its own mobile telephone, gas central heating, private garden, private pool (5mx10m), patio for outdoor dining, barbecue area and washing machine. It is equipped with Hi-Fi, Satellite HD flat-screen TV, VCR, DVD and laptop computer with WiFi connection for unlimited free internet access. The kitchen is equipped with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, toaster and coffee machine.

    Further Details
    Montone (9 km) has 2 bars, 4 good restaurants, small food shops a pharmacy and a bank. Umbertide (14 km) is much larger and has a supermarket, banks, a wide array of shops, restaurants and a market every Wednesday morning. The whole of the Upper Tiber Valley is full of excellent restaurants where you can taste typical Umbrian and Italian cuisine. If you like good food this is a place for you.

    A superb stay every time, our 5th trip Summer 2011. We have stayed with Carlo and Julie over 4 -5 years and each time we have had a fantastic experience !     Wow! What a gem! As soon as we arrived we knew this would be something special. The accommodation is superb and the setting idyllic. Eight of us stayed at Lavender House and having four teenage girls the luxury of having four bathrooms was bliss! The owners, Julie and Carlo, have the expertise of being of hand when advice and assistance is required bjut seem to disappear when rest, relaxation and a siesta beckon.     About the Owner

    Carlo is American and his wife Julie is English. Ex investment bankers, they moved to Vialba in 1999 and lovingly restored the estate. They live at Vialba and though they will let you enjoy your privacy during the holiday, if required, they will be on hand to assist you and ensure you spend an unforgettable holiday. On the evening of your arrival you will be invited to a candlelight dinner in the main residence.

    Why this location?

    We fell in love with the estate and bought it in 1998 from Count della Porta whose family has owned Vialba and the surrounding valley since 1730. We restored it with great love and respect for its ancient origins and the surrounding landscape. In 1999 we left London and came to live in the beauty, peace and tranquillity of the valley. Casa Vialba is almost a tiny village resting on the gentle flanks of a hill overlooking the river Carpina and the country lane that winds it way up the valley. The main house, its 3 annexes and stables are surrounded by a 60 acre estate of forest and countryside. From the Casa Vialba, the only other buildings you can see are those in the distant village of Montone.

    What are the unique benefits of the property?

    Casa Vialba offers stunning 360° views, total relaxation and your own private facilities with the owners on hand to assist you only if required. The estate offers free riding facilities either in the manège or on the numerous bridleways which surround the property. Children are welcome and can enjoy riding the estate tractor, or the child's quad bike. The games room is equipped with a billiard table, table football, darts and video games. Archery is available on site as well as mountain bikes.
