    Property description

    The five double bedrooms (all with balconies) are on the upper ground floor - three are en suite, and the other two share a family bathroom. Four of the bedrooms are east facing and have spectacular, unobstructed views of the Knysna Lagoon. Also on the upper ground floor is a study and a double garage. Above the garage is a large play room, accessed from inside the house. Most of the lower ground floor is an open plan kitchen, family room and dining area. There is also a separate lounge, a scullery, and a downstairs shower and toilet. Large stacking doors open onto east and north facing patios with covered dining and sitting areas overlooking the 20 metre swimming pool and the breathtaking views of the lagoon. Belvidere Heights is a gated, nine hectare, low density (only 12 plots) estate which has been developed to blend in with the surrounding fynbos. Bushbuck and porcupine are frequent visitors, and the spectacular Knysna Lourie can often be seen and heard.

    All five bedrooms have double beds, bedside tables, dressing tables, ceiling fans and balconies. Bedroom 1 has a separate area with built-in cupboards, and the other bedrooms have built-in cupboards inside the bedrooms.

    Upright freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, sink, ironing board and iron, vacuum cleaner. Door to outside gas and wood store, rotary clothes line and bins.

    Open plan kitchen, family room and dining room. Family room has three 3-seat sofas, coffee table, 42" plasma TV (satellite TV - DSTV), Blu-Ray player. Dining room with 12 seat oak table. Separate lounge three 3-seater sofas, coffee table, side tables.

    Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service:
    Towels and linen are included, but not swimming/beach towels. Towels and linen are changed weekly (for lets over 10 days long), and the property is cleaned weekly. There is an optional daily cleaning service (weekdays only) for an extra R200 per day.

    20 metre x 2.4 metre private non-fenced swimming pool with safety cover. Deep at both ends, shallowest in centre where the steps are. Guests are required to sign an indemnity form accepting responsibility for their children’s safety whenever the safety cover is removed. Large lawned area and indigenous gardens. Barbecue built in to exterior of chimney.

    Prices are given in South African Rands. Please contact us if you require prices in Pounds Sterling, which will be based on the current exchange rate. Payment can be made either to a UK or a South African bank account. Rates may be negotiable for long lets (more than 4 weeks).

    Changeover day flexible. Arrival after 3pm, departure by 10am.

    Booking notes
    Pets are not accepted and this is a NON-SMOKING property. Linen and towels are included, but not swimming/beach towels. The price includes a change of linen and towels every week (if staying more than 10 days). Payments in GBP or ZAR by cheque or bank transfer. A non-refundable 25% deposit (of full rental cost) secures booking. Remaining balance due 8 weeks before stay, together with refundable security deposit of £200 (returned within 10 days of stay subject to any damage/breakages).

    About the area

    Less than 10 minutes drive to Brenton-on-Sea which boasts a wide, sandy, undeveloped beach stretching for 5 kilometres to Buffalo Bay (good site for swimming). Many other beautiful beaches are within easy reach. Our favourites include Sedgefield, Noetzie, Goukamma and Leisure Isle (Bollard Bay beach).

    There is a choice of several spectacular golf courses locally, including Pezula, Knysna Golf Club, Simola Golf Estate, Oubaai Golf Club (near George airport), Goose Valley Golf Club (near Plettenbery Bay), Fancourt Country Club (near George, members and hotel guests only), Pinnacle Point Golf Resort (near Mossel Bay) and Plettenberg Bay Country Club.

    How to get there
    International flights to Cape Town (CPT) or Johannesburg (JNB). Approximately 5 hours drive to Cape Town.
    George Airport (GRJ), approximately 1 hours drive west along the coast towards Cape Town.
    Port Elizabeth Airport (PLZ), approximately 3 hours drive east.
    Car hire or the use of a car is essential, and cars can be hired at various locations.

    Belvidere Heights is in close proximity to a number of restaurants such as Pembrey’s, O’Pescador and The Bell Tavern and Caroline’s Bistro at Belvidere Manor. Also worth a visit in Belvidere is the tiny Holy Trinity Church which was consecrated in 1855. Knysna has a full range of banks, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping malls and local shops.

    Tourist attractions include the Knysna Waterfront and associated pleasure cruises, various theme parks (elephants, monkeys, birds, waterpark), natural attractions (Cango Caves, Storms River Mouth and Tsitsikamma National Park, Outeniqua Mountains, indigenous forests and the Knysna Heads to list just a few), sports (golf, fishing, surfing, walking, mountain biking, canoeing, sailing and extreme sports such as bungy jumping, paragliding, river tubing and abseiling). There is something for everyone in Knysna!!

    "Wunderschönes, exklusives Haus"

    Mit zwei Familien waren wir zu Gast in dem exklusiven, äußerst geschmackvoll und modern eingerichteten Haus. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, der Blick auf die Lagune von Knysna unbeschreiblich schön. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt und würden das Haus jederzeit wieder mieten. Sehr zu empfehlen!
