Located in the heart of the village of Benifallet, a small but extremely friendly town renowned for its Marvellous Caves (Coves Meravelles), this newly built apartment is the perfect location for kayaking, trekking, hiking, canyoning and bird watching. A paradise for fisherman and water enthusiasts, the Ebro River is renowned for its gigantic catfish and carp. For cyclists and walkers, Benifallet is perfectly located on the Via Verde (green way) offering gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The apartment is just one of four in the building with marble flooring throughout, air-conditioning and modern amenities. At the top of the building, the apartment has its own utility room with a washing machine, and there you will find your own private roof terrace with spectacular views over the river and surrounding mountains plus a telescope for viewing those crystal clear nights. Here you can enjoy all of the benefits of life in rural Spain, with a bit of comfort and luxury thrown in.

All towels and linens are included at no extra charge. There is no cleaning charge as the apartment is presented in a spotless condition and is expected to be that way after your stay. New towels and linens are changed every seven days at no extra charge.

The apartment is on the second floor of the building which does not have an elevator. The apartment would not suitable for wheelchair users or those who have difficulty climbing stairs.
The roof terrace has a barbecue, dining table for 6, padded lounge chairs, a portable radio/CD player, a small refrigerator and a utility sink. From May-September the village swimming pool with a bar/cafe is open each day from 11-2pm and from 4-8pm. Entrance can be purchased for daily, weekly or fortnightly tickets.

Central air-conditioning, heat and hot water are included. We provide the latest DVDs for the entire family along with a selection of books and CDs for your visit. We also provide a map of the village with opening times of shops, restaurants and bars, and a selection of pamphlets for local activities and upcoming events like fiestas and concerts. A 25% non-refundable booking deposit is required to confirm your booking .This is payable thru PayPal.The balance can be paid in cash,bank transfer or through PayPal 4 weeks before arrival (paying the balance via PayPal will incur an additional 3.5% fee). In some cases a security deposit may be required.This can be paid in cash and will be returned on the day of your departure. It is a condition that every guest has their own travel insurance policy before arrival.

About the area
Our nearest beach, Cristal Platja, is 30 minutes drive away and is in a lovely peaceful area with, as the name suggests, crystal clear water. The water gets fairly deep fairly quickly, unlike a lot of the Costa Dorada beaches. It is mainly a residential area with restaurants, beach snack bars in summer, sun lounger and pedal boat rental. Even in the height of the season we have never found it to be busy. Other popular beaches like l'Hospitalet de l'Infant and Miami Platja are nearby as well.
Our nearest golf course, La Figuerola, is just 35km from the apartment near the town of Vandellós. It offers an 18-hole par 3 course at a very reasonable 20 Euro a round including club rental. With fantastic views it is situated beside an 11th-century country house that has been converted into a 4-star hotel. Also nearby is the Bonmont golf course (53km) which offers green fees from £27. Laid out over gentle terrain with forward tees for the higher handicaps it is an enjoyable course (normally in good condition). Perhaps some difficult carries for novice players. Special Interest Holidays
Fishing: Of course, the Ebro River is famous for its gigantic catfish and carp fishing. If you need a fishing license, we suggest that you email us with all your details thereby wasting no time once you get to the Ebro River. The current license fees are: 1 year 16 euros. 2 years 27 euros. 3 years 39 euros. 4 years 46 euros. Cycling: The greenway or via verde, follows old railway tracks. When the trains stopped rolling over these tracks once and for all, they fell into disrepair and were forgotten. The old lines have now lost their rails and what was once the domain of wagons and locomotives is the realm of cyclists, walkers and day-trippers. Kayaking: “Beniemocions” is a local company that offers a selection of different canoeing and kayaking routes along the river for you to make the most of the Ebro at your own pace. They provide all the equipment as well as expert tuition. To ensure availability we can prearrange guided fishing, kayaking, hiking and cycling reservations for you.

The most enjoyable part of the day may be just relaxing watching the river flow by, or sitting outside one of the local bars having a glass of wine, watching the world go by and chatting with the locals. An essential part of being here and experiencing village life is a beaming smile and an ‘Hola!' or 'Bon dia!’ to everyone you pass in the street.
When it comes to eating out in Benifallet you’ll be spoiled for choice, and with the menu del dia of 3 or 4 courses including wine for around €10 per person, there is no excuse for not trying out the local cuisine at one or all of the village restaurants. Everything is made from local produce and, as well as the menu del dia, each restaurant serves an a la carte selection. Unfortunately, the words vegetarian and Spanish cuisine don’t necessarily come in the same sentence so you are not likely to see many vegetarian options offered, but they will be pleased to make up a dish for you.
Local fiestas are part of living here, whether you live here all year round or ‘live’ here for a week, you’re sure to find something happening, if not in Benifallet, then in one of the nearby villages, and you will love the lively celebrations usually topped off with fireworks. If you’re here for New Year’s Eve you must be in the square with your 12 grapes for the midnight bells as you attempt to eat one for each bell… i’s harder than you think!
But the most important fiesta is Benifallet’s Festa Major in September when every tiny street in the village is decorated and the celebrations go on for 5 days culminating with Catalunya Day on the 11th. Be prepared for no sleep when things like Battle of the Drums happen at 4am.

"A Gem "
This was an excellent location, not too far from the beach in the middle of beautiful countryside. not many tourists in this lovely Spanish town, where all the local people were friendly. Excellent value for eating out with a good choice of local restaurants. We hired bikes and cycled along the old railway line through stunning countryside. We canoed down the river. The apartment was clean, had everything you could want and the owner was friendly and happy to offer advise on local area. We would highly recommend this location to those wanting to sample the real Spain. You would need a car for exploring however the roads were excellent and easy to navigate.

"The real Spain :)"
We have just spent 11 Days in the area. What can I say! The scenery is stunning and in a fabulous location overlooking the river, the village is wonderful everyone is so friendly, ca Miguel is great for food, the menu of day is marvelous its only about 11 euros you get 3 courses and as much wine as you can drink! The area itself is so lovely and great access to the via verde, we hired bikes and rode to the font calda, its worth the ride, bit scary going through the tunnels the lights went off a couple of times so youre in pitch darkness, you get a miners light when you hire the bikes but it wasnt very bright, if youre thinking of biking take youre own light, great fun though. Its the perfect base to discover caytalunya, we went to some lovely places Miravet,Amposta,Corbe debre,Delta Ebre,Tarraagona, Tortosa and we actually drove to valencia and stayed overnight in a hotel and spent 2 days sightseeing(definatly worth a visit). I think this is the first time ever that we have seen the real spain, been many times but only to the coastal areas, we loved it. I would definatly recommend this property, its a great base and alll the comforts of home, very well equipped with guide books,Maps and information. Love to come back some day. Thanks Mandy. About the Owner
We hail from the UK/Ireland and fell in love with Benifallet nine years ago on our very first visit to Catalunya when we came to look at property with a view to moving to this area. On our first full day we found Benifallet and instantly fell in love with the village and the warm, friendly, welcoming population. Within an hour we had found a tiny village house we adored, found the Botiga Bar across the road where Rosita took us under her wing, and decided that this was the place for us. It was all a bit sudden and a bit too good to be true, so we drove around the whole area checking out all the villages but nowhere did we feel that same impact, so 6 weeks later we handed over our money and became the proud owners of the house we live in today.
