    Situated half way between Paphos and Limassol, Ampelohori complex is the ideal holiday base. Twenty minutes drive to either Paphos or Limassol, fifty minutes drive to the Troodos mountains and only a fifteen minute walk to the beach.

    Bedrooms:
    Bedroom 1 is air conditioned with double bed,bedside tables, dressing table and built in wardrobes.
    Bedroom 2 is air conditioned with twin beds, bedside tables, dressing table and built in wardrobes.

    Bathrooms:
    Recently updated bathroom with sink, large walk in shower and WC.

    Kitchen:
    A modern fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, iron, ironing board, clothes drier and all crockery, utensils and cookware.
    Dining area adjacent to kitchen with table and 4 chairs.

    Living Rooms:
    Air conditioned living room with 3 seater settee, 2 seater settee, armchair, coffee table and occasional table. A flatscreen TV tuned to local TV channels along with satellite Sky freeview giving very limited UK programmes. Their is also a DVD player.

    Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service:
    Towels and linen are included for use in the villa. (Please bring your own beach towels)

    Accessibility
    Access to the villa is down 2 steps and access to the communal pool is down a flight of stairs.

    Their are patio areas to the front and rear of the property and to the rear is also a covered veranda area with a table and 4 chairs. 4 sunloungers are provided for use at the property by guests. The villa is situated less than 100 metres from Ampeli Restaurant with its panoramic views of the valley & Troodos mountains. The restaurant also overlooks a full size pool that our villa guests are able to use along with plenty of sunloungers and umbrellas. Be advised the restaurant and pool are seasonal and is only open from 1st April to 31st October.

    Changeover day
    Changeover day is flexible, subject to availability. The standard time for arrival at Chilterns is after 3pm and departure before 12 noon. It is however our standard policy to offer more agreeable times when there is no conflict with other bookings.

    Booking notes
    Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds and include air-conditioning, welcome food pack, and membership of community pool. Minimum booking is 1 week. A 25% deposit is required at once to confirm the booking and the balance must be paid at least 6 weeks prior to holiday, payments are not refundable and it is recommended that travel insurance is taken out to cover. Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer in UK pounds.

    About the area

    Coast/Beach
    The villa is situated 15 minutes walk from Pissouri Jetty and beach which have an informal collection of excellent tavernas, a few shops, two banks, some apartments and one hotel. It is not an overdeveloped resort, as similar areas on Cyprus have become but has retained a Cypriot atmosphere. The beach itself is clean, safe, partly sandy and partly shingle and there are some water sports available in the summer. Loungers and umbrellas are available for hire and car parking is available.

    Golf
    Both Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills courses are a few minutes drive away on the road towards Paphos.

    How to get there
    Paphos airport is closest at 25km about 20 minutes drive away. Larnaca airport is 95 km but the journey only takes about one hour 15 minutes by car. Both are accessible by modern dual carriageway roads. (Cyprus drives on the left hand side of the road!) A hire car is not essential but is recommended, especially if you wish to explore this wonderful island.

    Distances
    Pissouri jetty is centrally placed between Paphos to the west and Limassol to the east, both are approximately 35 minutes drive away. Pissouri village is about 4 kms away up the hill.

    Pissouri Jetty is only 15 minutes walk away and has numerous mini supermarkets selling most essentials. Their are banks with ATM's along with numerous restaurants and bars. Pissouri village has a pedestrianised area with central square surrounded by restaurants and bars along with more banks and shops.

    "Chilterns"

    We liked Chilterns. Our only reservation was that the beds were very hard but we coped. The location was excellent for us to explore Cyprus but we really liked the area around Pissourri. There were lots of good, friendly places for us to go out and eat. There were good food shops nearby. The local residents were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The house was adequately equipped though fairly basic. If you want to wallow in luxury; spend a bit more. If you want a nice place to stay and a good base it is excellent. We explored most of Greek Cyprus and found it to be a wonderful place for a holiday, a perfect climate and some lovely scenery. Chilterns is handy for both Pathos and Larnaca Airports and is in easy walking distance from Pissourri Bay and it's amenities. We were particularly interested in the Wildlife and found the hillside behind Chilterns excellent for all sorts of exciting things including Cyprus Wheatear, Cyprus Warbler, long-eared Hedgehogs, European Tree frogs etc, etc. we would definitely recommend it and hope to go back. The owner provided a good information pack. I hope the bed softens up a bit!

    We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our villa and are sorry you found the beds very hard, some people prefer a harder bed to others so it is difficult to accommodate everyone. We will however take your comments on board and maybe look into getting softer beds in the future. We agree our villa is not the most luxurious of villas however it is adequately equipped and this is certainly reflected in the price. It is ideally situated for seeing Cyprus being midway between Paphos and Limassol and it is in a quiet area making for a relaxing holiday. We thank you for taking the time to write a review and hope you will consider staying in Chilterns again in the future.

    "Home from home but warmer"

    My friend and I spent a blissful week at Chilterns. The property has everything you need to self cater or eat out. We had breakfast every day and sometimes lunch but ate out in the huge choice of restaurants at the beach and up in the village of Pissouri in the evening. Our favourite lunchtime spot was the Aphrodite Hills restaurant at Avdimou beach, five minutes drive away, with its pastel sofas and roof sails. A very pretty spot. The house was so comfortable and clean and the beds comfy too. It was dark by 6 so we had a meal out and came back to watch a DVD or just play cards listening to music. The Ampeli restaurant next door is inexpensive and on the doorstep and from the terrace you can watch the lights coming on in the village up on the hill. A visit to the Troodos mountains is highly recommended and the village of Kakopetria and the little monasteries. Kykkos monastery is a sight for sore eyes. If I stay in Pissouri again I would certainly return to Chilterns and would recommend it. There is enough room for 6 people and I'd love to bring my son and his family as the children would love the pool opposite and the beach.

    About the Owner

    We live in Cirencester, Gloucestershire with our two daughters. We both work full time and enjoy golf, badminton, walking and holidays in our villa in Cyprus.

    Why this location?

    Having spent 3 years living and working in Cyprus in the late nineties and after numerous holidays since then we decided Pissouri Jetty was a place we would like to have a holiday villa. The area is relatively unspoilt, quiet and peaceful yet has all the facilities required, shops, restaurants, bars and banks. The Blue Flag beach provides year-round safe swimming in clear warm water. More adventurous sun-worshippers will discover that at both extremes of the bay, the pebbles and shingle give way to fine sandy stretches beneath the cliffs. The natural protection of the cliffs and the sheer size of the beach make it ideal for water sports such as windsurfing and kiteboarding, which are available throughout the summer season.
