    Studio apartment, ideally located for both beaches, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, shops all in walking distance - no car required!! A supermarket/local grocery store/delicatessen are located approx 50 metres away. Los Locos beach has been awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness. Both beaches are cleaned 365 days a year. There are several 24 hour chemists located in close proximity. The extensively modernised Torrevieja marina/promenade is an approximate 10-15 minute flat walk, en route you will find market stalls, funfair and the recently developed bar/marina area comprising newly built bars/restaurants. Although a studio - make no mistake, this apartment is perfectly situated and offers all amenities, facilities and a great location. The communal areas are clean and well-lit and serviced by two lifts. The property would appeal to singles, couples and long-term rentals. A vibrant, weekly Friday market located by the bus station between the hours of 10am and 2.00pm.

    Clean white floor tiles, white and blue tiled kitchen with electric hob, extractor fan, fridge, toaster, microwave, washer/dryer machine, kitchen utensils, crockery, glassware, pots and pans, kettle etc.

    Living Rooms:
    Lounge/bedroom - airy room comprising two single beds, 2 seater sofa, dining table & 3 chairs, wardrobes, wall unit, CD/radio, room fan (2 electric heaters for winter bookings). Sliding patio doors to "Juliet" balcony.

    Other:
    Fourth Floor Studio apartment of 38 metres square. TV/DVD combination television. No satellite. Communal pool accessed on 1st Floor with key. Notices on 1st Floor provide opening hours during the day/evening of the communal pool.

    Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service:
    Bed linen, blankets, towels and tea towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. If available please make use of sun chairs, mats, parasol and base, snorkel, masks etc for use at the beach.

    Although a studio - make no mistake, this 4th floor apartment is perfectly situated and offers all amenities, facilities and a great location. This is not an urbanisation of identical apartments where a car is required to reach beach, shops or restaurants. This apartment is near enough to enjoy the typical Spanish lifestyle but without being disturbed by loud music or hordes of people . The residents of the apartment are in the majority Spanish. The communal areas are clean and well-lit and serviced by two lifts. There is a ramp for wheelchair use. The property would appeal to singles, couples and long-term rentals. Electric fires for any winter breaks.

    No set changeover day/restriction on arrival/departure times where possible except arrivals and departures falling on the same date. A fee of 30 euros is payable for cleaning and laundry with an extra 10 euros per week for each additional week/part-week.

    About the area

    Coast/Beach
    The apartment is situated 50 metres from the beaches of Playa del Cura and Los Locos. Nos Fraugos is an approximate 25.
    Los Locos has a childrens play area comprising climbing frame. Playa del Cura has safe bathing areas. The beautiful beaches of Guardamar and La Marina are a car ride, bus ride away of about 15-20 minutes.

    Golf
    If car hire is a part of your holiday plans, there are plenty of golf courses, water parks, shopping centres within easy reach, as well as resorts such at Playa Flamenca, Villa Martin, Guardamar, Cabo Roig and La Zenia to name a few.

    How to get there
    Alicante approximately 45-50 mins transfer by car/taxi. Murcia approximately 40-45 minutes transfer by car/taxi. Car hire is not essential as all amenities are within walking distance of apartment. It may be possible to provide airport transfers from/to Alicante and Murcia airports.

    Distances
    A short drive/bus ride away are a huge Carrefour and the Habenaras shopping centre with boutiques, perfumeries, book shops, electrical and gift shops etc.

    The towns of Guardamar, La Marina, La Xenia, Cabo Roig, Punta Prima are a short drive away.

    Further Details
    Torrevieja has a bustling town that has an array of boutiques, designer shops, Mango, Benetton, Lacoste to name a few. There are several well stocked supermarkets, butchers, delicatessens. There are numerous Banks in and around the pretty harbour area. The promenade/harbour have new bars that offer a tranquil setting. There are also several tobacconists located in Torrevieja. There are internet cafes and mobile phone shops to credit mobile phones. Buses are clean and frequent. At most times of the year there are local fiestas involving colourful parades, lots of children and vibrant music. Easter sees a week of magnificent parades in Torrevieja and the first week in May there is an Andalucian May Fair featuring a wonderful parade of horses and all things equestrian, plus flamenco (even dogs and babies are in costume!). The month of June sees Torrevieja host a spectacular fireworks display which can be viewed from any of the bars/restaurants situated along the beachfront. July sees the Moors and Christians parades (Guardamar's is wonderful), you will never have seen costumes like these! Any many more, there is always something going on in Spain.

    Hi, my name is Sonja McGrattan. I am married and live in Luton, Bedfordshire, England.
    I am self employed and work as a Chiropodist offering foot care from home and on a domiciliary basis.
    I purchased the studio apartment in May 2005 and chose Torrevieja for its bustling, cosmopolitan feel. My husband and I have enjoyed many short breaks as well as longer breaks during the past seven years in my second lovely home!!
    It is ideally located for all amenities, feels like real Spain. We have met local British people who have retired to Spain, along with local bar owners English, Spanish, Dutch, Norwegian etc.

    Why this location?

    I looked at several properties both by the coast and inland. My preferred criteria were beach or pool, a location not requiring the hire of a car, shops, bars and restaurants all in easy reach. I was shown three other properties but adored the apartment I purchased. Inland property would have required car hire. It is within the town of Torrevieja, 50 metres from the sea. It is all on the flat and everything is within walking distance. During the summer the Spanish take their holidays in Torrevieja and the late evenings can yield many Spanish enjoying the summer evenings, yet my apartment is a haven as it is not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It is a very clean environment, the beaches are immaculate and the town centre is being renovated to a high standard.

    What are the unique benefits of the property?

    This studio offers all amenities, supermarkets, chemists, weekly market, shops, boutiques, etc but at a fraction of the cost of other larger properties in the area. Flights to Spain during the spring/summer months are expensive so I have reflected that in the price of the apartment on a weekly hire. No car hire is needed as everything is within easy walking distance. It is suitable for wheelchair access. The Playa del Cura beach and shops are pedestrianised. The Los Locos beach is long and wide. Despite the weakness of the pound sterling to euro, prices remain relatively cheap in Torrevieja and have done so for several years. There are bars and restaurants to suit all nationalities and the harbour/marina area has been transformed & modernised comprising upmarket lounge bars etc.
