Luxury Ski Apartment in New Development on the pistes of Le Chinaillon. The apartment was bought by us off-plan and architect designed to provide one of the largest kitchen/dining/living areas in the village. We have worked hard to make it comfortable clients love it and return each year, booking early. 5m high ceilings with exposed roof beams and a large wood burning stove give it a traditional feel while modern amenities such as wifi and satellite TV and a superb kitchen all add to making a great holiday. Bars, restaurants and the village centre shops with well stocked supermarket are all close by and easily walked to. A well kept secret by the French it is a traditional farming village, equally gorgeous in the Summer with ancient farms where Reblochon cheese is made. The beds are made ready for you on arrival with large bath towels. The apartment is cleaned thoroughly prior to arrival. All clients are met at the apartment by our friendly agents.

We have two large balconies that are sun traps and great for drinks and dining in the evening. The chalet is surrounded by grassy gardens and has a tree lined stream running to it's side.
Important notes on accommodation
The apartment is wonderfully insulated and warm in the evenings. The wood burning stove in the living room providing all the heat that is needed. For those that don't want to light the stove there are several efficient radiators. Two large water tanks provide plenty of hot water.

Prices are for the property per week in euros.
Saturday is the changeover day, though this can be negotiated in January and Summer, and short breaks may also be possible then.
25% deposit to confirm the reservation. Balance paid 6 weeks prior to holiday. Payment can be made by cheque or electronically. There is also a security deposit of £350 which is returned if there is no damage, lost keys, and the place is left clean.

About the area
22km away are the grass beaches of Lake Annecy where its clear waters reflect the surrounding mountains. There are a wide choice of water sports and lakeside cafes and restaurants.
In Summer Grand Bornand has a nine hole golf course, with a couple of longish par 3's and par 4 doglegs over water and through trees that will test good golfer's. It is predominantly a friendly track though and with a welcoming club house is ideal for those wanting to try golf for the first time. Kid's are welcome and golf clubs for all sizes are cheaply rented.
The Grand Bornad/Chinaillon area is on our doorstep and when linked with La Clusaz it forms the Aravis area with over 210km of skiing and much much more off piste. Ideal for families it also provides testing skiing with many mogul fields and a large off piste free ski area. Boarders have 2 snow parks. Lessons are easily booked with English speaking instructors and it is only 200m to ski school by ski or 400m on foot. Grand Bornand has produced many cross country Olympic medal winners and is a centre for Nordic skiing for those who prefer not to down hill ski. There is also snow shoe walking tours organised by the tourist office. A local micro climate gives the area a superb snow record with usually a metre of snow surrounding the apartment and much more at the top. The local ski shops all offer free lockers, if you have to walk kids (or adults) to ski school, but skiers can use our two lockers and ski from our apartment. For the brave try tandem ski/paragliding with the local pilots.
How to get there
Geneva is the closest airport and is an easy 55 minute drive away. Annecy and Geneva are also main TGV stations. We very often drive from Calais which is an 8 hour drive away. There are two garages for our clients and in the Summer a car is essential, in the Winter it is recommended for large food shopping.

A Dentist and Doctor living in London. My wife and I fell in love with Le Chinaillon some 4 years ago and set about finding somewhere to buy. We bought off plan, two adjoining apartments in a new development on the piste. We worked closely with the architect to give us the place we now love and want to share. Living in London with all of it's stresses is made bearable knowing that Le Chinaillon is so close
