Villa Helena has a beautiful private pool and patio area in an ideal location which offers a haven of tranquility whilst being close to white sandy beaches in front, with tavernas, restaurants, bars, shops and all amenities 300 metres behind. It has a high fence and lockable gate surrounding the pool area for security and privacy. There is no through traffic as it is located in the exclusive Mimosa Villas which is a cul-de-sac development. It is a very private, fully air-conditioned 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom (3 WC) villa in its own gated grounds with swimming pool and has been equipped to the high standard expected of a modern villa. It has two large double bedrooms (one can become a twin room on request at no extra charge) and can sleep 6 as it has a fully sprung sofa bed downstairs. It has 2 bathrooms plus an additional downstairs WC/cloakroom.

The kitchen area has all appliances including a fitted hob, extractor & electric fan oven, a large fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster, kettle and a large selection of pots & pans, utensils, crockery & cutlery.
An understairs cupboard off the kitchen contains the washing machine (the ironing board and steam iron are stored in the downstairs cloakroom & kitchen cupboard respectively). A folding drying frame can dry clothes rapidly outside in the Cypriot sun.
Lounge area: two comfortable leather sofas, coffee tables, lamps, new Philips flatscreen 1080 HD-TV with 1080 HD-DVD player. Large number of satellite channels including English news, sports and films. One of the sofas converts to double sprung sofabed.
The dining area has double patio doors opening onto the swimming pool area. The large dining table seats six comfortably (plus the high chair if needed!)
Good quality white cotton bed linen and large white bathroom towels are included although we ask you to provide your own beach towel for outdoor use. Tea towels provided. For longer stays there is a mid stay clean available.

Access for vehicles is easy with off street parking for one car. Guests would need to be mobile enough to climb the stairs to the top floor/bedrooms (the stairs are wide and there are handrails/banisters).
The double patio doors from the dining area open onto the beautiful sunny swimming pool area which has high wooden fencing and a high lockable gate for security and privacy. Adjoining the pool is the sunny rear patio which is bordered by fencing and tropical shrubs. To the side are Cyprus trees and a lemon tree. The rear patio is completly fenced off from the front of the house for privacy and security. There are four comfortable sunbeds with two small folding side tables, a large rectangular table to seat the six comfortable chairs, and a Cypriot barbecue with all utensils. The triple patio doors from the lounge area open onto the sunny porched front patio which continues to get sunlight through into the evenings even towards sunset, after which it has lighting. The front patio has a low wall, some border shrubs and a single metal gate leading to the front door.There are double metal gates to the drive which has ample parking for one car and a security light.
Important notes on accommodation
Villa Helena's furnishings are not typical of a rental property as we have equipped it to a very high standard (thus the beds and sofas are nice and comfy!), because it is our intention (at some point), to make it our permanent home. If you're traveling with a baby or toddler we include all the equipment including a high chair, cot, changing mat, low stool and chair, potty and adaptive toilet seat, and a selection of toys, plastic plates, beakers, cutlery. Also foam finger guards for the doors. To stop children running into patio doors, they all have butterfly shaped child height window transfers (and also at adult height!) Downstairs there is a large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area: The spacious lounge area has large triple patio doors opening onto the sunny, porched front patio. There are two aircon units downstairs and two upstairs, which can also be used to boost the heating in winter. There is also a fitted electric radiator / convector heating unit downstairs.

We look after you through the whole process and can help with arranging airport transfers and/or car hire. Payments are very straightforward: either by internet banking or by cheque. A refundable security deposit of £300 secures your booking. The rental amount is then due 8 weeks before your holiday. Your security deposit is then returned to you following your stay once the property and inventory checks are satisfactorily completed. This system ensures that the house is kept at a high standard.

About the area
You are spoilt for choice when using Villa Helena as your holiday base. The closest beach, just 4 minutes walk away, is Fireman's Beach. Malama Bay is another 4 minute walk south along the coast from Fireman's Beach and in between the two on the coastal path you'll find an array of secluded bays to choose from. Just 15 minutes away by car are the famous Fig Tree Bay with long white sandy beaches, water sports, gorgeous Nissi Beach and beautiful Connos Bay.
Golf courses are a 60 to 90 minute drive away.
Skiing is up in the Troodos Mountains available during the winter season.
Special Interest Holidays
If you continue along the coastal path you will reach the border with the Turkish sector with a viewpoint and telescopes to observe the ghost town of Famagusta. Here there is also a museum and a small wildlife park including a large collection of birds including all the regional birds of prey and ostriches.
How to get there
Just 45 mins drive from Larnaca Airport (65km), Villa Helena is well placed and easy to find with clear instructions provided by the owner on booking. Flights to Paphos airport, just two hours drive away are also available. Car hire can be easily arranged before you travel, either for collection at the airport or in resort. If you do not want to hire a car and would like to stay in the villa and beach area, this is completely feasible as all you need is within walking distance. Transfers by taxi
Within 4 mins walk of restaurants, bars, plus supermarkets, bakery and off licence. The traditional market town of Paralimni is 2km away offering a blend of old and new with great places to eat and a Marks and Spencer's and Carrefour. Pernera and Protaras are just 10 mins away and offer family entertainment whilst Ayia Napa, with its beaches, nightlife, Water World Water Park and traditional sights is just 15 minutes away by car. Villa Helena is an excellent base for relaxing or active holidays.
An extensive file containing details of a whole range of local attractions and facilities is available in the villa to help you decide how to spend your holiday. Local free publications, available in many local shops, are also invaluable for finding out what's going on in the area. In addition to relaxing by the large private pool or on the beach you can enjoy a whole range of activities including the exhilarating slides at the famous water park, catamaran cruises around the coast, scuba diving (including try-dives for beginners), snorkelling and walking or cycling along the beautiful coastal pathways. We have been snorkelling in these crystal clear waters. It is so easy to just float motionless on the surface and watch shoals of pipefish going by! Villa Helena really is in an ideal location for your holiday - a beautiful, private, well-appointed villa with facilities and beaches nearby and also within easy reach of the neighbouring towns of Paralimni, Protaras and Ayia Napa offering you a wide range of sports and activities, restaurants and bars, shopping and sightseeing options to enjoy throughout your holiday. Kapparis is a quiet resort, yet has a great choice of restaurants and bars for those nights that you want to stay close to the villa. The villa is ideally located for those who want to escape and relax yet it is close enough to larger resorts to benefit from all that they have to offer should you want something more lively. The long white sandy beaches at Protaras, including the famous Fig Tree Bay, are just 10 minutes away by car. In addition to the wonderful beaches Protaras is a popular resort offering a wide choice of restaurants and bars, and family entertainment options including mini-golf, a sea aquarium and the evening entertainment at the popular Eden Square. Ayia Napa is situated just 5 minutes drive further along the coast, and offers a wide range of options on a larger and livelier scale.

"Review of Villa Helena"
Overall the villa was clean and well equipped, with exception the high chair, travel cot and sun loungers. I couldn't actually bring myself to place my eight month old into either until I washed the high chair which looked new by the time I had finished. The straps were dirty, covered in food from previous use. Maybe a plastic chair would be more hygienic and easier to keep clean. The travel cot was heavily stained on the base and around the the edges. Two of the sun loungers were broken where the screws had become loose and fallen out. We couldn't watch tv but were pleased that there were children's DVDs available which helped keep our little boy entertained. We hired a car as we preferred the whited sandy beaches in protaras which is not was not distance. I'm glad we hired the villa but in all honesty I would probably book a hotel for our next trip to Cyprus. Chris from empire arrived at larnaca airport to pick us up and announced that we would need to pay €60 due to the number of cases as he insisted they would not fit into his Mercedes. He said we would need to go in a large people carrier, which funny enough we managed to get to heathrow in a ford mondeo including our cases!! We also had cats roaming around and even spraying the front door which was a real issue as we have an 8 month old who crawls around and the last thing we wanted was a poorly child whilst away. Although the house was nice it's not really for us
