Lindores House is located in the beautiful coastal retreat of Alnmouth in Northumberland. Just two minutes walk from the house to the fabulous unspoiled beaches and estuary. Alnmouth is quiet and peaceful with an extremely friendly village atmosphere. Completely designed to a luxurious standard, the house is both cosy and hugely comfortable meeting all your holiday relaxation needs. The house benefits from its large indoor space, perfect for families to holiday together in luxurious comfort! There is a BBQ and outdoor seating for summer al fresco dining. With 5 double bedrooms - 2 of which can be arranged with twin beds (top floor bedrooms only) and 3 bathrooms/1 cloakroom, you have plenty of room for everyone! An additional foldout bed can be provided in one of the bedrooms to accommodate the 11th guest. The house is very child friendly and equipped with most things you may need. Free BT Infinity WIFI, and PlayStation4 with two controllers and games. We aim to make your stay a very enjoyable one, so don't hesitate to ask us to help! There is a local village store with all provisions you need and a Post Office as well as some superb local fayre at the local eateries.

Beautiful cook's kitchen. Two stoves electric ovens, large 6 burner Neff gas hob, 3/4 fridge large fridge with freezer at top, dishwasher, wine rack, breakfast bar, one and a half ceramic sink, lots of cupboard storage space, separate large utility room.
Washer/dryer, sink and drainer, freezer, microwave, lots of storage space, ironing board, iron, mop/brush etc. Access to downstairs WC and outdoors.
Gorgeous sitting room with large cream sofa and 2 leather sofas. Wood burner. Coffee table, flat screen freeview/BT Sports TV/DVD player. CD player, books and magazines. Dining room with handmade oak table, chairs to seat 11 and original fireplace.
Space beyond belief so comfortably fits groups/families/friends in easily with lots of bathrooms and space for all. Contemporary re-styled Victorian home from home. House manual and welcome pack on arrival.
Egyptian cotton towels and satin stripe linen included. Weekly clean and change. Please bring own beach towels.

To the rear of the property is an enclosed patio with BBQ, table and chairs if you want to dine al fresco!
Parking is available on the street outside the house and usually even in the busy summer you will be able to park only a couple of minutes walk from the house.
There is a park for everyone to use in Alnmouth equipped with slides, swings and BBQ area.
Important notes on accommodation
The house is well equipped for children and babies, we have a steriliser, highchairs, cots and monitor for you to use, save bringing everything with you!
We can arrange most requests, so don't hesitate to ask. The state of the art central heating system ensures that there is plenty of hot water for everyone, and with 3 bathrooms and 1 separate WC there is no waiting in the morning. If you fancy a cosy night in, you can light the log fire in the sitting room and curl up with some of the DVDs at the house or maybe even take in some board games or PlayStation4 games. Free BT Infinity WIFI for internet access during your stay. Televisions in all bedrooms with remote controls. With 2 large ovens and a 6 burner gas hob, you can feed the masses quite easily.

About the area
Two minutes walk from the house to Alnmouth's stunning beach. The many towns and villages dotted around Alnmouth span a scale of contrasts from cosy coastal hamlets to remote hillside locations. Amble is a traditional fishing port with a modern marina and interesting seafront. You can sail a yacht from Amble or one of the many other harbours and inlets on the coast. Windsurfing, water ski-ing and diving among the wrecks off the Farne Islands are also popular.
Foxton Hall Golf Club is only 5 minutes from the village. The course is a fine test of golf - 6450 yards long, par 71 - and has hosted National and County events. Its subtle difficulties are offset by the wonderful variety of scenery, ranging from seashore to headland, with a breathtaking, panoramic view from the 15th green over many miles of the Northumberland coastline. The course is rich in wildlife and is always a joy to play. Alnmouth village also hosts it's own golf club, formed in 1869, the course was designed and created by Mungo Park, who later became a famous golf professional. Alnmouth Village is the oldest 9 hole links course in England and, many famous names of the past have graced the Alnmouth links, including Harry Vardon, J.H.Taylor, Tom Morris, and The Prince of Wales. The Golf Club welcomes visitors on holiday, and also caters for visiting parties.

Two minutes walk to the Alnmouth village centre, five minute drive to Alnwick, voted 'Best Place in Britain to Live' by Country Life magazine, is renowned for shopping, a lively events calendar and farmers' markets. It's also home to The Alnwick Garden and Alnwick Castle, rising dramatically above the town and famous among Harry Potter fans as the setting for Hogwarts. Don't miss Alnwick's 'Barter Books' either, one of the largest second hand bookshops in Europe.
The coastline embraces Warkworth Castle, which towers over the picturesque streets of Warkworth, noted for its arts and crafts, while nearby Alnmouth boasts superb sandy beaches and the historic Foxton Golf Course. Picturesque Craster, renowned for herring fishing and world famous Craster kippers lies nearby. Walk or cycle a mile north to ancient Dunstanburgh Castle, perched high above the rippled sands of Embleton Bay and last occupied during the War of the Roses. Beautiful villages are dotted throughout unspoilt countryside of pure river valleys, rolling moorlands and lush green landscapes. Pretty fishing ports are scattered along a spectacular coastline, many in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as Seahouses with its views of Bamburgh Castle and the wildlife rich Farne Islands; and Craster, famous for its smokehouses and delicious kippers.

"Weekend with friends"
5 couples rented Lindores for a long weekend. The house is comfortable, warm, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is very well-equipped. A perfect location to enjoy the beach and coastal walks. A great time had by all.

Great place to stay. Everything as advertised, clean and with good customer service. Plenty of room for six adults, four children and a dog. On the beach within minutes of closing the front door. Convenient for lots of castles, Bamburgh, Warkworth, Alnwick, as well as Druridge Bay Country Park and beach. The beach at Alnmouth was great for the grandchildren. Lots of sandcastle building and kite flying. Didn't eat out but The Red Lion was a nice place for an evening drink. Booked for next year while we were there. Had everything we needed for a half term Halloween break.

About the Owner
We are a family of 4 from London, who have fallen for the beaches, castles and peace of Northumberland over the last 10 years.
In our many trips to the area we noticed a shortage of luxury houses that could comfortably accommodate two families or more. We were so excited to come across Lindores in the magical town of Alnmouth. The proximity of the beach, the quality of the restaurants and the convenience of the railway station made it the perfect place for us to stop our search for a Northumberland home.
Lindores has been lovingly restored with a local company. It is beautifully thought out and designed with families in mind.
Since we bought Lindores we have been utterly delighted by the warm feedback from guests. Please help us to make it even better by sharing your opinion.

Why this location?
To be right next to the seaside in a magical part of the world. The 'Salcombe of the North' as Alnmouth should be known. Set back in time with a relaxed and informal community, its the safest place in the world for children to run free. The people are so friendly and the place is alive with history and good old fashioned things to do - put away your technology for a while and enjoy the fun activities of yesteryear. (Or not since we have superfast broadband, Wifi and a PS4 with games all available). The village is quiet and peaceful yet has so much going on too.

You have a gas BBQ and fantastic seating area at the rear of the property for al fresco dining. All in all we make sure that our guests are happy and have a superb holiday.
