We had a lovely holiday in your wonderful cottage! Lovely, peaceful village too - everyone so friendly.

The cottage is really lovely and so well equipped - the best we have stayed in I think.

We thought that St Fraimbault was a really special place. It was a holiday that will stay in our memory for a long time.

    About the Owner

For the last 14 years my husband, our two children and I have been spending all school holidays at our family house near Gorron, Western Loire. During that time we got to know the beautiful village of St Fraimbault really well and enjoyed spending time walking round the lake and looking at the amazing flower displays. We have loved sharing fun times and relaxation with friends and family over the years in this wonderful part of France. There truly is something for everything from brocantes, markets and beautiful scenery to easy access to the coast of Brittany and Northern Normandy. Every year we discover a new place to visit and have never been bored, even without TV.

    Why this location?

As an Interior Designer, with a passion for renovation, I jumped at the chance of buying two adjoining cottages in my favourite village six years ago. They were both very rundown, with one of them needing completely gutting. I tackled the first renovation using a team of french artisans and was delighted with the result! I am currently renovating the second cottage which will be available to guests this Summer. This is a lovely part of France, with lots to do and good access to the coast and other fascinating areas. You will be surprised at how quiet it is, even in August, no queues here! It is ideal for a two location holiday as it en route to the South of France. The village is easily accessible from the ferry ports of St Malo, Caen or Cherbourg.

What are the unique benefits of the property?

If you love village life, practising your French and meeting people, you will love it here! The village location of the cottage is ideal for anyone not wanting to have to drive everywhere. For a taste of home there is an 'Irish' bar with a french slant, just up the road, serving Guinness. For more of a french experience there is another bar and restaurant a few minutes walk away. The village is well served by a small supermarket and a boulangerie where you can buy your fresh croissants and bread each morning. For an early evening aperitif, there is an open air bar on the lake during the Summer season (also serving excellent crepes and wonderful coffee). What about the kids? - well the pedalos on the lake keep them amused! And did I mention the glorious village flower displays?
