La Hermitage, Frayssinet
This ought to be a really amazing property. The setting is gorgeous - a tiny hamlet in secluded valley, with rolling hills, no sound except birds and crickets, and the occasional tractor. The house is very spacious and appealing - converted from an old pigonnier and a big barn, with high ceilings and amazing beams; set in large private gardens, with views down the valley. Its lovely and cool inside even on the hottest days, and the pool is a good size. It is clearly very much a family home - the owners are English and it is managed by a next-door neighbour, Ian, who is Scottish and was very kind and helpful. Sadly the property is let down by the standard of the fixtures and equipment, and a general lack of TLC.When we arrived, the house had not been cleaned fully esp the kitchen. (Some of the cleaning was done on day 2 and we received a small discount). The kitchen is bizarrely split across two rooms, so that the gas hob in a different room to the fridge and oven. Outside the gardens are pleasant but neglected; tatty plastic tables and chairs outside (only 7 chairs), with stained and torn cushions. The two bedrooms in the tower with twin beds are very charming, but one is accessed through the other, and the bathroom and loos are at the other end of the house. The property is unsuitable for anyone with small children, as there are open staircases with only a banister rail or nothing at all. No rail around the swimming pool so again worrying with small children.

Superb property
What a lovely property and the view was spectacular. An amazing lounge and all the facilities were there. Nice good size pool. The garden is very secure for dogs with fencing all the way round. We have already booked for next year and recommend this property.

a lovely relaxing break
we stayed as a family of 8, and there was plenty of room. Pool is a great size, and gives lovely views. A real sprawling property - you'll have fun with the random light switches! Recommended

Secluded French Paradise
We travelled from Australia and stayed for a week in this beautiful, traditional rural French home, surrounded by lush trees and rolling hills. It has a fascinating pre French Revolution pigeonnaire inside and large spacious rooms. The home was so appealing we would have stayed for months. We did many day trips to the surrounding towns to see castles, monasteries, rivers and bridges. The markets in Sarlat were amazing too. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the well equiped kitchens, yes there are two cooking areas. It really felt like a different world leaving the hustle of our working life behind and totally relaxing in this hidden gem. We would totally recommend anyone wanting a getaway to hire a car and stay at L'Ermitage, we will definitely come back again. Thanks so much for sharing your home with travellers like us.

Love travelling particularly to France. Enjoy cycling and walking and sometimes running the quiet lanes.
Love visiting the nearby villages and towns, buying lovely fresh produce to cook either indoors or on the barbecue. Love entertaining outside on the patio, even in winter, looking at the stars and kept warm by the fire pit.
