A one-level 3 bedroom/3 bathrooms villa with a pool of 4m x 10m. The villa is surrounded by gardens, has 3 patios, an electric gate with video entry phone, secured and private WIFI, a carport, fully fitted kitchen and a very secluded pool surrounded by tropical gardens. The master bedroom has patio doors that lead to a patio overlooking an oriental garden full of plants and trees and oriental artifacts. A perfect place to have your morning coffee, while at night, a place to have your glass of wine since the landscape is dominated by the illuminated Moorish Castle. It has a fully fitted and spacious kitchen. The sitting room has views of the mountains while the dining room leads to the poolside. At nighttime the pool lights and the 25 lights all around the garden give such drama and a romantic feel. The poolside has also views of the Moorish Castle and when lit at night adds a new focal point. It is situated just 1.3 km from town but walks to the countryside are just at your doorstep.

There is a lean-on storeroom where you will find the washing machine and water heater.
Lounge - 3 and 2 seat sofas, Italian marble coffee table, 32 inch Sony Plasma TV, Sky digital box, Bose Home Cinema Sound Surround system, wood burner. Dining room - dining table, 8 dining chairs, side cabinet, Air Con Unit.
Change of towels and bedding is once a week.

Private pool is 10 metres x 4 metres with Roman steps (for sole use of guests) in a tropical garden setting. Gazebo with a table and 6 chairs (best views of the castle from here). 6 sun beds and more tables and chairs all around the pool. 3 terraces around the house, the first is in front of the house where you have lovely views of the Guadalhorce valley, the second could be access from the dining room patio doors where you can find the poolside and the third is off the bedroom facing an Oriental garden with Oriental trees and plants and Japanese lantern, a Thai Budda, a Chinese gong and other artefacts, this has the views of the Moorish Castle. Two types of barbecue to choose from, charcoal and bottled gas.
Important notes on accommodation
The whole house has hot and cold air conditioning units in all 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living and dining room and kitchen. It is fully fenced and has electric gates and video entry phone. It has a Sky satellite TV, Bose Home Cinema Sound Surround System, and a private and secured WIFI. The pool can easily be accessed from the house so constant supervision of children is required.

Notes on prices
Prices per week for 4 persons. A supplement of 75 UK pounds per person will be charged for party over 4 people. Weeks falling on Easter, Christmas and New Year fall as high season. Mode of payment: 25% deposit upon reservation and the rest 6 wks prior to arrival. Check in time no earlier than 4PM, Check out no later than 10am.

25% required at the time of booking with balance to be paid six weeks prior to arrival.

About the area
Nearest beach is Malaga and Torremolinos which are accessible either by train (45 mins) or car 30 mins.
Laura Golf, Alhuarin Golf, Parador Golf and Campanillas golf courses are just 20 to 30 minutes away.
How to get there
Nearest airport is Malaga Airport which is just 45 mins away. No need to hire a car since Alora has great train links to Malaga City, the Costa del Sol, or El Chorro. Also, the town is just 10 minutes walk away for when going out to paint the town red.
Alora town centre is only 1.3km away. Malaga is only 40km away (Picasso museum and night life). El Chorro is only 13km away (lakes). Antiquerra is 40km away (Roman garden and restaurants). Ronda is 70km away (oldest bull ring in Spain). Cordoba is 150km away (Mezquita). Granada is 110km away (Alhambra Palace) while Seville is 2 hours away.
Alora is a working white washed village. It has a variety of tapas bar and restaurants. Unlike the Costa del Sol, eating out is still very cheap but very good food and drinks are also still cheap and quite generous on cocktail drinks.

We stayed here for a week with our two twenty-something sons. It would be hard to find any fault - a lovely villa, with beautiful views, quietly situated and very peaceful. Spotlessly clean, and the screens meant that we could open all the doors and windows to keep cool, without any insects getting in. The pool and garden were beautifully maintained. We really appreciated that the kitchen was so well equipped, and that loads of store cupboard basics like oil/vinegar/spices etc were all provided, as well as a welcome pack of "essentials" including chilled beer and wine. Perfect! It is about a mile to walk into the little town for tapas, quite hilly but quiet roads. The train station is quite close, a taxi cost 10euros, and we took the train to Malaga and to Ronda for day-trips, both of which were really worthwhile. Helen and Steve were great, unobtrusively helpful, and the lift to the Supermarket on the first day was a real bonus - we didn't hire a car so stocked up completely for the week. Thoroughly recommended!

Both the other reviews are 100% accurate and there is nothing to add. The town is walkable in under 20 minutes, with a steep uphill finish, if you want to eat out, but why would you not want to stay put in these lovely surroundings?. This property is a gem.

"A little bit of Heaven "
This was our third visit to Casa Mimosa and again as Radiohead once sang.. no alarms, no surprises! Helen & Steve are wonderful people and to share their home with us, is a measure how wonderful they are. The Villa now for us is home from home, everything you need is there, the welcome pack is first class. the many areas to sit out, the lovely pool, provides endless enjoyment. Alora itself is a town we never get fed up visiting, and as our many other reviews.. we will be back! Thank you Helen & Steve..

"An oasis of luxury in the sun"
We stayed here for 11 nights last month, and although I had read all the positive reviews so was prepared for the villa to be great, we were still bowled over by how beautiful everything was. Helen and Steve were fantastic hosts making sure everything was ok and we knew our surroundings. There after they left us to enjoy their villa but were just a text away should we need to ask anything. This is a fantastic location with superb views, a large and beautiful garden with lots of options for relaxing in different locations. We had 3 children with us who all enjoyed the pool, the sky TV and excellent selection of DVDs. Absolutely everything you need is at your fingertips. We had a car which made things easier with the kids but the villa is close to alora where there is a train station. The town is walkable to though we didn't try it with a 3 year old and not much of a path. We rarely re-visit the same location but will definitely be back to the lovely casa mimosa and the beautiful Alora.
Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children and romantic getaway

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Helen and Steve were wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them .They met us at Malaga airport to ensure we got to the villa safely. During our stay, they did so many kindnesses for us. One was Steve's delivery of two chocolate cakes he had made for us. Delicious! We almost never saw Helen do what I believe was her almost-daily cleaning of the pool before we were out of our beds. We knew she must have been to the villa only on days when she left fresh oranges on the doorstep. The villa is comfortable and fully lived up to our expectations. The selection of books and tapes is excellent. (Sorry if we wore out the Gypsy Kings CD, Steve and Helen!) The pool and grounds are fabulous. The location is excellent. Regards, Michael
About the Owner
We are a couple from London and moved here in this lovely white washed village 10 years ago and we never looked back. We just love where we are because of the lovely scenery and very welcoming locals. We have integrated well with the Spanish which was easy since we both speak fluent Spanish. We love our lifestyle here in Alora, so laid back and stress-free, we have adapted the Spanish way of life, and that is "we work to live and not to live to work". Our daily lives are enhanced by the presence of our Cocker Spaniel and Dachshund. My husband has hotel and food and beverage background, having worked for major hotels in the Far East as well as restaurants in London, while I had worked in Public Relations back in London.

Why this location?
We bought our finca because of its vantage position, its proximity to town (1.3 km away) which is only a 15 to 20 minute walk away and at the same time having the peace and tranquility of the countryside. Yes, we have the best of both worlds. What was the clincher to to deal was the views of the Moorish Castle especially at night when illuminated, it's so magical. While the views of the mountains and countryside are breathtaking. We just love where we are because the walks to the countryside is at our doorstep. The finca was a cereal farm and so there were no existing trees when we bought it. Now it is the greenest finca in the area with hundreds of conifer surrounding the perimetre, a tropical garden, an oriental garden for meditation. It is paradise on earth and we just love it.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
What we love about the villa is the ease to go to town or the main roads leading to Malaga etc. Unlike other properties, you need not hire a 4 wheel drive because the access is good and quite short (1.3km. In the evenings, majority of other properties, you are surrounded by darkness while here you have the views of the illuminated Castle and town plus you can see the town of Pizarra, Coin and Alhuarin twinkling away.
