Portuguese airport - Oporto 60 minutes Easyjet, TAP
Spanish airports - Vigo 25 minutes by car.
Ferry - Santander - seven hours - mostly motorway.
A five minute walk takes you to the local village with a small supermarket and bar. Tomiño is five minutes by car and has two supermarkets, bars, restaurants, cafes, banks and plenty of shops.
Santiago de Compostela is 90 minutes by car. Fortress towns of Tui in Spain and Valença in Portugal, re-constructed celtic village of Monte Tecla in La Guardia all within half and hour drive. From the bustling seaside town of Bayona (30 minutes) catch a ferry to the Isla Cies.
Known as the Rias Baixas, the region enjoys a micro-climate with temperatures well into the 30s during the summer months. Known for its Albariño and O Rosal, quality white wines, it is possible to visit various vineyards and enjoy tasting the different wines. Many cultural events take place throughout the year including a very popular wine fair in July. Eating out is much cheaper than other parts of Spain and there are excellent local family owned restaurants who take great pride in their cuisine, an area also famous for its seafood dishes. Several of the villages have their own gastronomic fiestas.
This is always something to do at any time of the year. In spring and autumn, the temperatures are perfect for walking in the hills and mountains, or by the sea or river. The cooler temperatures at these times of year are also better for enjoying cycling and riding in this very beautiful and natural area. Summer months are great for enjoying being by the sea and taking full advantage of water sports, lazing by the pool, splashing about in nearby waterfalls and enjoying al fresco meals. Summer evenings are usually cool enough to enjoy a relaxed stroll to the village or on surrounding woodland tracks. Historic places of interest such as the towns of Tui and Valenca, the celtic site of Monte Tecla with incredible views of the Atlantic ocean and River Mino mouth, are great to visit any time of year.

"A Galician Adventure"
We had the most wonderful holiday here this July with my two teenage daughters. It was everything I had hoped peaceful but with plenty to do in the area, a perfect spot for exploring with Portugal being only a 20 minute drive. Horse riding, kayaking, walking, markets, lovely restaurants all on hand. The cottage apartment was superb exactly as described, spent many nights with a glass of Albarino on the tree top terrace. The pool area was delightful, clean and the perfect temperature. We all loved our holiday and we will certainly be back next year. A great place to holiday with friends as other units available on the finca. Holidaying with a 13 and 18 year old, at times its hard to please everyone but on this occasion I got it right! A huge thank you to Paul and Maggie who made us feel very welcome and were on hand with recommendations so our stay was completely memorable. Would highly recommend a visit.
