This stylish, modern 2 bed apartment is located on the exclusive 'Marina de Lagos' complex. The newly-built apartment with its open plan living space, combines style, comfort and convenience. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor in a secure complex with video entry phone. The interior comprises a large master bedroom with marble en-suite bathroom. There is a further double bedroom with two single beds and a second shower/guest bathroom. The kitchen comprises a hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, dishwasher. The living area is light and spacious and opens onto a wide balcony through double French doors. The apartment is fully air- conditioned, cable tv and DVD. The large terrace is perfect for dining, sunbathing or sipping sangria while enjoying the views or watching the sunset. The terrace enjoys a south facing aspect. A 10 minute walk to the beautiful town centre of Lagos and only 10 minutes walk to the great beach & on the Marina, Supermarket 1 minute walk.

The apartment is perfectly located in thelovely and ideally located Dom Manuel complex yet it is close enough to reach all Lagos has to offer on foot, a car is not required. Guests staying in this lovely complex can enjoy the fantastic swimming pool, beautifully maintained gardens with sun loungers and parasols. This is quite unique as Dom Manuel is the only complex within the Marina to boast its own private swimming pool! The garden area is gated to ensure it maintains its exclusivity and also to provide privacy for its guests. There is only a small number of apartments on this sought after complex which has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and offers its guests the space to unwind and fantastic facilities to enjoy. There is a great supermarket just across the road to the rear of the apartment which opens till 9pm. There truly is something for everyone here and with everything on your doorstep you can do as much or as little as you choose.

Prices quoted are for the whole apartment which sleeps from 2 up to 5 guests comfortably. We are happy to offer a discount for bookings of just 2 people. Flexible arrival/departure days. Departure / Check out time is 11.00am / Check in is 3.00pm. Changeover date is flexible except for July and August.
We kindly request a 25% deposit on booking and the balance 8 weeks prior to your stay. Payments accepted by cheque or bank transfer. Strictly no smoking inside the apartment. Towels are provided for use inside the apartment, however you are kindly requested to bring your own towels for beach/pool use.

About the area
The apartments are located a 10 min walk from the lovely beach of Meia Praia beach which has lovely causal but good restuarants. From the waterfront you can enjoy many day trips and activities including dolphin safaris, diving, para gliding and boat trips to the grottos.
An ideal base for golfers, the town of Lagos offers a plentiful supply of bars and restaurants while a short car drive will take you to a host of magnificent courses. (see owners website for more details). Palmares - 5 mins drive, is one of the most scenic courses in the Algarve, with most of the holes laid out on the gentle slopes above Meia Praia beach, overlooking the Bay of Lagos. BoaVista - 5 mins drive, provides a variety of attractive and interesting holes set against a glorious backdrop of the clear atlantic ocean. Parque da Floresta - 15 mins drive, set in a dramatic and steep sided valley is currently the only course west of Lagos.
Also close by is the the championship Penina Golf course designed by Henry Cotton and recently hosted the Portuguese open.

How to get there
Faro is well serviced - note it canbe slow so leave ample time for the airport: EasyJet, RyanAir, Jet2, Monarch, BA, BmiBaby and Flybe. Fron Ireland - Ryanair & Aer lingus From the airport, the apartment is a pleasant 45 min drive along a quiet motorway. Private airport transport companies also operate. Once there a car is not needed as everything is within walking distance. Should you prefer to hire a car there is ample free parking at the complex.
The apartments are ideally located within walking distance of the bus and train station where transport can be found to all of the many attractions of the Algarve, including the water parks, Zoo Marine, Zoo, Algarve shopping centre, Cape de St. Vincent, shops, supermarket, bars. Restaurants and the waterfront 5 mins walk away, golf courses approx 10 mins drive.
The Marina complex is the place to stay to enjoy the many attractions of Lagos. Quality restaurants, bars, shops, a large supermarket and many cafes can be reached within a five minute walk. Car hire is absolutely not required and transfers from the local airport can be arranged at time of booking. The complex benefits from 24 hour security all year and because it is part of the award winning Marina hotel complex, is maintained to an extremely high standard.

"Top class accommodation"
This was our second stay in this apartment in Lagos only this time we had a 10 week old baby boy in tow along with his 2 year old sister, Mom and Dad and of course ever present Granny. Once again we were blessed with the weather, we had pleasant sunshine for the duration of our stay. We love this apartment it's modern, clean, safe and within easy distance of all locations so we didn't need a car and just got a transfer to and from Faro airport. The vistas from the balcony are splendid looking on to the pool and outdoor terraced area of the complex with nicely lit olive trees on the well maintained lawns at night. There is a large supermarket, Pingo Doce,a few hundred yards from the complex again negating the need for having a car and the rooms in the apartment are east facing so they are cool all day long and sleeping at night wasn't a problem. We would highly recommend it for a family stay and are already planning our next trip.

"Our week in Lagos"
We arrived in Lagos never having been to Portugal and were pleasantly surprised at what a beautiful location it is. The marina is just a short walk from the apartment and the town is not too much further. There is a very handy supermarket (Pingo Doce) just 3 minutes walk away where we bought lovely crusty bread for breakfast. The apartment is exceptionally well maintained, very clean and ideally situated. Very spacious, with two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and two bathrooms, kitchen with washing machine, dish washer and microwave, a large comfortable living area and a large balcony overlooking the pool and with a view of the marina. The whole apartment block is clean and secure and very private. We hired a car for the week as we like to travel around and explore when on holiday, but if you didn't want to drive then there is plenty to see and do on foot close by. There are lots of good restaurants and bars around the marina - you are never more than 10 - 15 minutes walk away from somewhere to eat and drink. We had a great time and would definitely use this apartment again.

Wonderful location by the marina. Ideal for sightseers, beach goers or for just relaxing by the pool. Pool area ideal for couples or families - there is a tooler paddling pool to one side. Plenty of parking outside with a wide variety of outdoor dining close by. We dine out for breakfast most mornings over by the marina and went into the old town each evening. There is a wide variety of restaurant to suit any pocket. There is an amazing local supermarket directly behind the apartment with a fab deli counter (with freshly cooked chickens and meat) Can not recommend highly enough.

"Super accommodation "
We have stayed in this Apartment three times. It is a super location, with fabalous views from the balcony. We love how spacious the apartment is, with two bathrooms. Everything just works in this apartment. It is spotlessly clean and finished to a very high standard which we love. The fact that there is a large swimming pool which is enclosed serving this block of apartments is a real bonus, particularly with smaller kids. You can keep an eye on the kids from the balcony in the apartment. We just really really love the place, and will be back for sure. Lagos is a super place to holiday, long sandy beaches, great restaurants with a huge choice and a great climate with a gentle breeze by the beach. Yes it is just super and for us this apartment makes it.

My family & I have holidayed annually in Lagos for the last 8 years , most of the time enjoying the comforts of this apartment. it has become like arriving "home" to us with all the amenities and comforts of home, always well decorated and pristine.Its location is a major plus, 10 mins stroll from town, 10 mins stroll to beach and 3 minutes from an outstanding Pingo Doce supermarket, 3 minutes stroll to rail station and with ample parking. The pool area is quiet and relaxing. the day begins with trip to Pingo Doce for fresh bread, followed by swim & then breakfast all completed in 40 mins.!!! The apartment facilitates eating in, though we only do this once, (the day we visit slide &splash a 30 min drive) as Restaurants in Lagos are of high standard & good value. The night normally finishes with a drink in the apartment looking out towards the lights of Lagos, a very friendly and relaxed town. Perhaps it says enough of the apartment that I am reluctant to let my secret out of the bag by completing this review , as at the back of my mind is the fear that the apartment might be harder to book on my annual return.

About the Owner
I went with my parents to visit Portugal a few weeks before I got married and stayed in the Marina Club. Spotted the apartments on the Marina and so enjoyed Lagos and the Marina as it is such a nice development that we decided that we would make it our permanent holiday spot. The apartment is very well maintained and my mom spends her holiday washing the pillows etc.... Why this location?
We really enjoyed the area, plenty of flights to faro and and easy drive from Faro... The Marina is great as its got a lovely atmosphere but is very classy and all amenities are within walking distance so we don't hire a car and totally switch off well we would if my husband would turn off his mobile..
What are the unique benefits of the property?
A break away from all the talk of the economy in Ireland is a big plus to being away... but I always look forward to an evening drink on the balcony as it gets great heat and sun till late in the evening.
