This large 3 bedroom luxury apartment in the 4 star Estrela da Luz resort is situated in the lovely village of Luz, located 6 km west of the historical town of Lagos, and approx. 200 metres from the beautiful beach of Praia da Luz. The resort is fully secure with a 24 hour manned reception, CCTV, and designated underground parking for guests, serviced by a lift. Free WiFi is available in the apartment. The complex has three outdoor pools and one indoor heated pool with a jacuzzi and sauna. Poolside snack bars and a friendly cafe/bar offer inviting menus with excellent food for breakfast, tapas/lunch and dinner. The Estrela Health and Beauty facility has a state of the art gym and beauty rooms for treatments and therapies. There is also a multi purpose sports area with tennis, football, basketball and children's play area.

There is also a Gym, a multi purpose all-weather surface sports area suitable for football, volley ball and basketball, and tennis courts.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Prices based upon Sat. to Sat., but we are flexible on bookings for different days of arrival and departure. Minimum stay 3 days.
Changeover days are flexible. The usual arrival time is not before 2pm and you are requested to leave before noon midday on the day of departure. Luggage storage facilities are available in reception for late departures.
A non refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. Balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to holiday by cheque of bank transfer.

About the area
The apartment is a 5 min walk from a promenade and lovely sandy beach at Praia da Luz, one of the nicest beaches in the Algarve. It is sheltered by Roca Negra (Black Rock) magnificent sandstone cliffs with spectacular cliff walks. This beach has many water sports activities, beachside cafes, restaurants and bars, and shops. There are also a number of other beaches and small bays within easy reach, including Dona Anna, Meia Praia, Batata, and Porto do Mos.
There are 3 golf courses in the immediate area. Guests can avail of discounted rates. Boavista GC, an 18 hole par 72 course, is a 5 min drive. The famous Palmares, which is also an 18 hole par 72 course, is a 15 mins drive. Both courses are serviced by the resort shuttle bus. The Parque da Floresta course is a mere 20 mins drive, while Penina GC is 20 mins drive.

How to get there
Direct Flights are available to Faro International Airport. Flying time from the Britain and Ireland is from 2 and a half to three hours. Faro is a drive of approx. 50 minutes drive on the A22 motorway. A train service operates from Faro to Lagos. Transfers can be arranged if needed, as can car hire at special prices from a local car hire company. The resort bus takes guests around the local area. A car is not essential for stays in Estrela da Luz.
Estrela da Luz is in the delightful village of Praia da Luz, which has supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars. There are also a chemist and local English speaking doctors. The historic walled town of Lagos is 6 km and this also has everything you would need for your holiday. It also has a a marina offering sea fishing, dolphin watching and pleasure boat trips. It is within easy reach of the Monchique mountains and Cape St Vincent, the most westerly point of mainland Europe.
Praia da Luz was once an old fishing village, which has developed into a small friendly resort with all the facilities required for a great holiday. Family attractions such as Zoo Marine, water parks, crazy golf and Lagos Zoo can be accessed - book at reception for discounted tickets.

About the Owner
Bob and his wife Joyce live in Dublin. Both are retired and spend a lot of their time travelling the world. They also have a holiday home on Valentia Island off the Kerry coast in South-West Ireland. Bob received an Honorary Doctorate from the National University of Ireland Maynooth where he is a director of the University's Foundation. He is also a board member of a number of companies.

Why this location?
We love this part of the Algarve, which is totally unspoilt. Praia da Luz is a lovely former fishing village with a wonderful beach and great amenities - plenty of bars and restaurants and facilities for children. It is close to the ancient walled town of Lagos and many golf courses. It is the perfect place for a family holiday.
