Delightful, beautifully positioned, in a very quiet area, at the edge of a small Istrian village, the villa provides privacy for your family, a peaceful and safe comfort place in the Istrian land with calming greenery. One can enjoy relaxing around the refreshing pool, listening to the bird song and prepare the food in superb, stone built BBQ and outdoor kitchen with an additional pizza oven and bar.
Yet, from this relaxing getaway, on easy reach, you may feel spirit of Istrian historic sites, enjoy the culture events, experience the taste of local food and wine.
The closest airport is in Pula (40min) and airports in Trieste (1:30h) and Venezia (2h drive away from villa), open even more options in planning your holiday.
Renewed in old style with traditional materials - stone and wood. It has a private, south facing, swimming pool of 50sqm in front of the house just a few steps from the covered terrace and summer kitchen-BBQ so that pool area is easily overlooked from the house and garden. The villa is centrally placed in the big garden with a lot of greenery and few cherry trees which provide the natural shadow around the villa in a hot summer time. The villa is built with large stone blocks and contains large open space in the ground floor and three double bedrooms on the first floor. All the rooms upstairs have the air-condition but usually it is not needed as the wide solid stone walls keeps the heat outside. The barbecue has a lot of place to prepare the dinner and it is placed close to an unique garden table made of a big stone plate with heavy iron chairs around.

Lovely break in a lovely villa…

We spent 2 weeks at Villa Barbara and we had a fantastic time! The outdoor area especially was beautiful. The bbq and pizza oven were firm favourites with our family and it was a perfect place to celebrate my birthday. We particularly enjoyed visits to Rovinj, Porec and Motovun is an absolute must! There is nothing within walking distance to the villa so a car is vital - also be mindful that the petrol stations are far away, so always make sure you have enough petrol to get back to the Villa (we learnt this the hard way!) Goran was a very responsive host and we would highly recommend this villa!

Family with teenagers stay

Great villa, particularly lovely pool with super comfy loungers. Fantastic well equipped BBQ area. Very clean rooms with air con in the bedrooms which was very welcome. The villa is in the middle of the countryside, not walking distance to any shops or restaurants. We went to an excellent agrotourism restaurant which was a 5 minute drive away. Thank you to Goran for a lovely stay!

Gem of a place

We had the most amazing stay in this lovely villa. We booked at short notice and I am so pleased it was available. Every email sent to Goran, the owner was responded to immediately and he was so helpful. The villa is about 40 mins from Pula Airport so obviously you need a car. On arrival the first thing you notice is how clean the villa is and how big the fully enclosed garden is The wraps round the villa. The villa is fitted out with just about everything you can think of. The pool is just lovely and the grandchildren loved it. The child’s slide and wendy house were a very welcome addition. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family and hopefully We will revisit in the not too distant future.

Superbly appointed villa in great location

The booking and communication process with Goran was easy. The property details don't do the villa full justice. It's set in a lovely spacious and private garden, that creates a wonderfully relaxing environment. Inside the villa is well appointed, we struggled to identify anything that could be added and everything worked as it should. One of the best villa's we've rented - and we've rented some nice ones!

Fantastic property in a great location - one of the very best we’ve stayed in.

This property is a true gem. It’s superbly equipped and every bit as good as it looks in the photos. We found Goran to be extremely responsive and helpful both in the run-up to and during our holiday. Dusko and Vesna (property managers) are quite simply two of the nicest people you could meet and very happy to provide helpful advice about the local area (and further afield) should you need it. We visited Lipica (Slovenia) and spent two days in Venice whilst staying at Villa Barbara. Closer to home we spent time in Rovinj, Vrsar and Motovun. We also had a couple of visits to Istralandia (one of two water parks within 30 mins of the villa). The small local store in Sv. Lovrec is more than adequate for the majority of your needs and there are a cluster of large supermarkets 30 mins away in Porec. There’s a great pizzeria in Sv. Lovrec and a couple of really good Konoba’s within 5 mins drive of the villa. Surprisingly for a fairly rural area you do need to book to ensure you get a table. We loved the food in Croatia, the pork and beef was some of the best we’ve tasted and the fish was also very good. Portions are hearty and meals are very good value for money. We had lovely weather allowing us to enjoy all the villa had to offer including the fabulous pool and the outside kitchen which had a great bbq area and a separate pizza oven - which we used to make our very own pizzas - they were pretty good as well! Overall a really excellent holiday which we all thoroughly enjoyed (my children are 17 and 13). There’s a lot more for us to do in this location that we simply didn’t have time for and we will definitely return. Many thanks to Goran, Dusko and Vesna for all their help and support (and for my birthday present - which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated). The Creighton family, York, UK.
