Kitchen: Fully modernized kitchen with cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster. Freestanding island unit/breakfast counter.

Living Rooms: Very large, spacious and light sitting/dining room with west facing balcony. Being on the 3rd floor and with no building opposite this room is wonderfully light and gets all the afternoon/evening sunshine. TV and DVD player.
Other: Fast broadband, wi-fi connection. iPod speakers/charger.

All linen and towels are included although a charge of 45 euros will be made for cleaning and replacement of linen at the end of your stay.

Notes on accommodation
Please note that although all the bedrooms have doors, due to the open plan nature of the flat, access to the the main bedroom is through the smaller of the double bedrooms although there is now a curtain dividing the room from the corridor. The second bedroom also currently has blackout curtains for those who can't sleep in the light! The floor plan is on the photo page. We have fast broadband wi-fi connection, which is included in the rental price. Directly opposite the house there is a children's playground and an outside table tennis table on the street. We also supply a welcome pack with information about the places we've discovered including shops, bars, restaurants and clubs.

Accessibility
Being an old building (1910) there is no lift but the stairs are not steep and very wide.

Outside
There is a small, west facing balcony with table and chairs. Lovely for lunch or evening drink.

Coast/Beach
The apartment is situated in the west of the city where there are lakes and beaches. From the U-bahn stop at the end of the road you can take the underground train for 9 stops to a lovely wood and swimming lake.

Travel
Tegel airport is a 15 minute taxi ride, or 25 mins on public transport. Schonenfeld airport is 40 minutes by either express bus or train.

Distances
Our local U-bahn station (Fehrbelliner Platz) has two lines and is only a 1 minute walk from the apartment. From there you can access the very good city transport system.

Booking notes
Deposit required to secure booking - balance due four weeks before holiday. All bookings will be subject to an additional €45 cleaning / laundry charge. There is a refundable deposit of £150 payable in advance in case of damages and breakages.

About the owner
Charlie is a photographer and Eliza is a film producer and they live in London with their three children. Eliza works in Berlin frequently which is the reason they decided to buy an apartment in this friendly, vibrant city. Their two eldest children have now left school and also love to visit whenever they can to take advantage of the cultural life by day and the club life by night and having a flat in Berlin makes them very popular with their friends!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought the apartment in 2007. Having looked at several others all over the city we were immediately attracted by the combination of space and light, and the fact that many of the period features were still intact. We subsequently renovated the whole flat replacing the small kitchen with an open plan one, removing the false ceilings to reveal the full 3.5m ceiling heights throughout and modernising the bathroom. Having stayed with friends in trendier areas like Mitte and Kreuzberg we decided, like many Berliners, that a good nights sleep was preferable to nightlife on the doorstep and so the quieter area of Wilmersdorf with its excellent u-bahn links offered the perfect balance of calm, value and location.
