1 bedroom with double bed and wellness mattresses. A separate alchove sleeps up to 2 further people. Spacious high open wood-beamed bathroom with natural light, over-sized shower booth, wc, integrated sink and washing machine. Hair dryer is provided. Fully equipped kitchen with 4 spot cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster. Cosy living area with 2 leather sofas and a multimedia entertainment system (42'' TV, DVD player, USB connections), iphone docking station. There is free WiFi internet connection throughout the apartment. A massage chair allows you to relax your muscles after a full day out. The dining area is sunny and spacious and holds a rustic wooden table with 4 comfy leather chairs. It opens to the large balcony of 16 sq ft where you have another table and 4 chairs for your summer dinners outside.

Birkeneck 2 - 2 Bedrooms (Sleeps 3/4)

2 sunny bedrooms both with direct view of Neuschwanstein Castle and 2 luxury bathrooms with day light. Bedroom 1 has one double bed and access to the 11m long balcony with view to Neuschwanstein castle, the lake, the green meadows and the mountain panorama. Bedroom 2 comprises of 2 large beds with wellness mattresses. New luxury bathroom 1 with open shower, stylish square sink and natural light. Hair dryer is provided. Luxury bathroom 2 with bathtub and shower combined. Beautiful new separate kitchen with 4 spot cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, dish washer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster. The kitchen has a dining area for 4 people and access to the long balcony. In the living room you will find sofa and arm chairs as well as flatscreen TV, CD player with USB connection, iphone docking station and a third access to the large balcony. There is free WiFi internet connection throughout the apartment.

1 sunny bedroom with double bed and wellness mattresses and a massage chair allowing you to relax your muscles after a full day out. A separate alchove sleeps up to 2 further people. New luxury bathroom with open shower, stylish square sink and natural light. Hair dryer is provided. Dream kitchen with 4 spot cooker in a separate cooking island, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster. Sunny dining area with full wood furniture and panorama windows on two sides leading on past an old English fire place into the cosy living area with 2 leather sofas, flatscreen TV, CD player with USB connection, iphone docking station and access to the 90sqm/970sft sundeck. There is free WiFi internet connection throughout the apartment.

We want our guests to experience a magical holiday in our beautiful area and are happy to offer our recommendations and insider tips with all bookings. Just tell us the type of experiences you would like to have (relaxing, moderate outdoor experiences, physically challenging, musical or culinary highlights) and we will propose specific experiences and activities for your holiday period. All bed linen, towels, parking, VAT, access to washer/dryer/iron and final cleaning are included in the price.

Outside
Birkeneck luxury holiday apartments are surrounded by meadows on 2 sides with only minutes to the lake/beach and walking distance to the castles. Birkeneck has a big private garden and a sun deck (ground floor apartment), large panorama balconies (first and top floor apartments). You will have parking spaces available on the property.

Coast/Beach
Within a 5-10 minute walk you will reach the first beach/lake.

Golf
Within 20 minutes you can be on a high quality 18 hole golf course in Lechbruck enjoying the exceptional natural beauty with a mountain panorama as your back drop. Within 15 minutes you will find a golf school for beginners and those who want to improve their skills.

Skiing
5 minutes from our house you will find the first ski lifts (flood flit and equipped with snow canons) and the almost 2000m high Tegelberg. There are no less than 70 ski lifts and 140 km of skiing slopes in ski resorts in the immediate neighbourhood between 5 and 30 minutes drive away. Ski touring, snow shoeing or snow boarding? Which one are you going to try?

Travel
Most international flights will arrive at Munich airport (150km from us). From there you are best off hiring a car and driving down (about 1.5 hours).

You could also arrive at Memmingen airport (75km from us) and drive down the A7 from there (45 minutes).

Distances
Birkeneck Luxury Apartments have stunning views of Neuschanstein castle, are an oasis of calm yet central in Schwangau and only 2 miles away from Füssen town's medieval centre and its cobble-stoned pedestrian zone. It's 3 miles from the border to Austria and 1.5 hours to Munich. Walking distance to restaurants, spa, lake, castles, local village and even the next town.

About the owner
After 15 years in corporate management in places such as London/UK, Geneva/ CH, Frankfurt/Germany and Dubai/ UAE, we felt a yearning for nature, peaceful surroundings and quality time together. Considering the Vancouver area, Cornwall, New Zealand, on one of our holidays we discovered a hidden gem location in Europe where 5 lakes meet the Alps and the famous castle Neuschwanstein: the beautiful little unspoiled village of Schwangau/Bavaria. We bought a tranquil house by the biggest lake and with direct view to the castle and upgraded it to provide luxury holiday apartments. It's such a beautiful place to re-charge your batteries and be inspired by the impressive unspoiled nature, great food and traditional architecture all around. We love coming again and again. Our guest do, too.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We looked for the most beautiful places to live in worldwide and finally found this idyllic and undiscovered romantic corner at the border of Germany/Austria. The Romans, Celts and German Kings were attracted to this area. Stunning Neuschwanstein castle inspired Walt Disney to invent Cinderella castle and attracts more than 1M visitors every year. Astonishingly the region is still a secret to most Brits. We love this place because it offers everything: castles within a 3 mile radius. 5 lakes to swim, sail, canoe and windsurf during the hot summers. Fabulous skiing slopes during the sunny winters. Romantic Christmas markets and NY Eve's fireworks. Outdoor sports: horse riding, paragliding, hiking, cycling, golf, tennis. Excellent restaurants and cafes - great variety of life.

New, sunny, spacious and luxurious with direct panorama view of famous castle Neuschwanstein & Alps, only 5 minutes from the lake in a calm, idyllic setting, yet within walking distance to the village centre & Fuessen town, 2 min from your first restaurant. Equipped with every luxury we would enjoy ourselves: such as leather massage chairs for a daily massage, luxury bathrooms, full kitchens incl. dish washer, a multimedia entertainment system and a washing machine in the apartment or accessible. The location of our house is very peaceful as we are surrounded by meadows, trees, the lake and the mountains with the castles. Cycling tracks start right by the house. Even the Nordic skiing tracks are close and the first ski lifts are only 5 minutes away.
