Bus, tram, U-Bahn and S-Bahn are within walking distance as well as "Volkspark Friedrichshain", a marvellous parc, to relax, to have a drink in a "Biergarten".

Berlin Mitte is the district with the most tourist attractions in Berlin. There is an endless list of historical and magnificent squares and buildings. The best known monument of Berlin is doubtless the “Brandenburger Tor”. It has been a symbol for Berlin in all times: before Germany’s reunification as well as today. From here you can easily explore the magnificent boulevard “Unter den Linden” with the famous “Adlon” hotel leading to the “Karl Liebknecht Strasse” street to the “Fernsehturm” tower; Berlin’s highest building. You will pass the “world time clock” and the popular Humboldt University, the national Opera and finally the “Museumsinsel” which is an ensemble of famous museums and a Unesco world heritage sight.

Thomas - hi, This is a sort of close-out note following our visit to Berlin. We are now back home and getting things back to normal! We had a great time in Berlin and enjoyed being back in the city to revisit some things/places and to experience new ones. A key to having everything work for us was the apartment in Barnumstrasse. It was just what we needed in terms of size, amenity and access to transport and the clean state in which we found it was appreciated.
