This 2 bedroom apartment is located on the 4th floor of a 5 floor modern apartment block in the Baumettes district of Nice. Access is by lift. The apartment has been recently refurbished to the highest quality throughout, including remote controlled air conditioning in the bedrooms. Internet access, multi-channel TV and phone are included. There is secure parking in the private car park to the rear of the building. Located just 50m from the Musee des Beaux Arts, and less than 10 minutes walk to the beach, the Promenade des Anglais and the Rue de France with its shops, bars and restaurants, this apartment is very well placed to enjoy the delights of Nice, the Cote d'Azur and southern Provence.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the apartment per week (7 nights) in euros. Where a booking is for a different number of nights the charge is on a pro rata basis, per no. nights stay (subject to the minimum charge of 600 euros). Bookings of more than 4 weeks will be discounted, depending on the season.

Changeover day
Changeover days flexible. Guests are generally requested to arrive between 2 - 7 pm and departure will be by 10.00 am. Times may be flexible depending on our agent's availability and whether there are other guests leaving/arriving the same day.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with double bed.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds.
These are both good sized bedrooms with air conditioning, fitted wardrobes, chairs and bedside tables. French doors lead onto the rear balcony.
Bathrooms: The main bathroom has a bath with shower; marble double basin vanity unit, a bidet and a heated towel rail.
Separate wc which includes single marble vanity unit with hand basin.
Kitchen: Modern fitted kitchen with French doors onto the terrace. Fitted to a high standard, with built-in halogen hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge. There is also a microwave oven. It is separated from the living room by a fitted dining table.
Living Rooms: The living room/dining room is large and faces south-east, with marble floor and french doors onto the spacious terrace. It is fitted with sofas and chairs. There is an entertainment unit with TV, DVD, radio/CD player, selection of discs and DVD.
Other: There is a south-east facing terrace, with access from the living room and kitchen. It enjoys views of the 2 local chateaux, the museum, and beyond these, wide views to the city and the sea of the Baie des Anges. It is furnished with table and chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided. The apartment is fully cleaned before guests arrive. For stays of more than a week, the apartment will be cleaned and linen changed fortnightly.

 

Notes on accommodation
Linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, coffee and tea making equipment, iron and hair dryer are all provided.
There is a safe in the hall cupboard.
Sorry, this is a non-smoking and pet-free apartment.

Outside
There is a gated private car park (remote entry) with designated parking space. Although, with most of the city's facilities within easy walking distance (you can get to most of the city's attractions in 0.5 hour), and with buses giving access to the rest of the city, a car is not needed for Nice.

Coast/Beach
Less than 10 minutes walk to the beach. Nice has a long beach -mostly pebbles - divided between 'private' beaches where you can pay for a beach chair and sun-shade; and the public beaches where you find your spot and make it your own! There are also sandy beaches at Villefranche, St. Laurent and Juan-les-pins, all within easy reach by car, bus or train.

Travel
The airport is 15 minutes by taxi; expect to be charged about 25 euros.

Booking notes
25% of rental fee secures booking with balance due 4 weeks before arrival. We accept payment in Euros by PayPal (you can use a credit card) or by inter bank transfer. There is a refundable deposit of 150 euros against breakages and damage payable on arrival.

On arrival and departure our agent will meet you at the apartment.

About the owner
Hello from Su & Owen - we are Londoners who spend most of our time in London but are in our apartment in Nice as much as possible - the more time we spend here the more we love it, and we keep hoping our French is improving! Su plays the violin as a hobby - Owen walks and cycles.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Baumettes is very central, but as its up a slight hill there is a sense of calm above the bustle of the city. When we first saw the apartment we were immediately in love with the location and the view from the terrace. We'd already decided on buying a place in Nice, having looked at other lovely locations along the Cote d'Azur, because there's always something interesting going on in Nice, and a great choice of entertainment. The most recent additions to the cityscape are the tramway which makes travel across Nice much easier, and the 'Velos bleus' which appeared this year (2009) and provide easy access rental bikes for short rides.

Unique benefits of the property
As well as the view - which tempts us to lazily hang out on the terrace - the apartment has its own dedicated parking space. So when we want to explore further afield its easy to rent a car and know we won't have trouble parking. Its also near the Promenade and the sea, so you can have a great time here just walking down to the beach. And as this is truly our 'second home' we've equipped it with everything we like to have around us - and hopefully that means our guests have everything they need as well.
