Self-catering 1 bedroom holiday apartment to let in a quiet suburb of La Rochelle, 15 mins leisurely walk from the stunning city centre, and 2 mins from local shops and cafes. The apartment (approx 30m2) is in very pleasant surroundings, and forms part of a brand new residence known as "La Residence du Petit Puits". This is a homely base from which to explore this thriving and beautiful town without the hefty hotel charges. It can comfortably sleep up to 4 people. As it adjoins our own home, were never far away if you need help finding your way around, or picking out the best places to see or eat and drink (no shortage there!). La Rochelle is the most attractive city on the West Coast of France. The Charente Maritime area, like the Vendee, enjoys a 'micro-climate' of temperatures similar to those on the South Coast of France.

Despite the near £1=1 parity, we accept Sterling payments at a rate of £1=1.25.

Notes on accommodation
Smokers are requested to smoke only in the garden in front of the apartment. We have our own WIFI network which provides free internet access to all who use the apartment. This is dependant on lessee having their own computer with wireless network capability, although we do loan a wireless PCMCIA adaptor to visitors with a non-WIFI-enabled laptop for 20 euros for the duration of your stay.
Outside
There is parking for 1 vehicle just outside the apartment, and an attractive garden with room to sit and enjoy the almost perennial sunshine.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is 30 mins by bike (or 10 minutes in the car) from the stunning beaches of the Ile de Re, about 25 minutes walk (5 minutes by car) from the man-made beach in La Rochelle, and about 6km from Chatelaillon which is beautiful beach resort.
Travel
La Rochelle Laleu airport is 5 minutes by car. Car hire is not essential, but is available nearby, as is free bicycle hire in La Rochelle centre.
Booking notes
50% of the total rent payable at point of booking. A 250 euro caution deposit, which is returnable after the stay, is payable with the remaining 50% of the rental to be paid not later than 6 weeks before start of rental period.

We are an Anglo-Irish family who have been living in La Rochelle since 2003. We run holiday accommodation here, in a super town for tourists and those seeking to get away from it all alike. In addition, we are musicians and sing, write and play together in a band called The Portraits.
