With guaranteed year round sunshine, the island of Sal is fast becoming a perfect beach holiday destination. The Porto Antigo apartments are situated in the town of Santa Maria. The front line complex overlooks 8 km of white sanded beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. The beach is a mecca for windsurfing, kite surfing and diving. Game fishing for tuna, wahoo and swordfish are locally available. Sal is an important nesting ground for loggerhead turtles, and humpback wales feed in the islands waters. The town of Santa Maria offers a mixture of West African and Portuguese culture with friendly, colourful locals. Pretty pastal painted houses of pink, yellow and blue overlook quaint cobblestone streets. Santa Maria has a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, with local seafood a speciality. | Other: | The stunning sun terrace is situated on the roof of the property with 180 degree panaramic ocean view. It is accessed by an external stairway from the patio. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Bed linen is included with rubbish collected daily. The development has the benefit of a private security service. |
Notes on accommodation
There are board games/books for those few hours during the day when it may get a little hot!
Outside
The area between the patio and the beach comprises a garden. There is patio furniture and sun loungers with the property plus additional sun loungers on the beach and around the pool.
Coast/Beach
The villa is located directly on the beach front....you are only a few steps from dipping your toes into the ocean!
Travel
Sal International airport is 10/15 min taxi ride away.
Distances
Porto Antigo is located centrally to the town of Santa Maria.

Further details
Sal is a water sports paradise for surfers, wind surfers, kite surfers, divers and fishermen, not to mention sun worshippers. In the event of any problems arising during the rental period these will either be dealt with by the owner in person or in the alternative by an English speaking representative. We also have other 2 Double bedroom ocean front villas available on Porto Antigo which are located next to each other!
Booking notes
To book, simply phone/email and pay a deposit of 50% of total rental cost, with balance due 8 weeks before departure. I can also arrange visa's very simply.
Guest comments
We had a fantastic time in your villa and in Sal - what an amazingly relaxing break! We struggled to do anything for the entire two weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed walking along the beach to the main beach each day, watching the local kids surfing and boogy-boarding en route!
Joe, my youngest, just loved watching the fishermen bringing in their daily catch of Wahoo, Garoupa and Moray eels. They even brought in 3 Marlin whilst we were there. The weather was superb - beautifully warm, but not uncomfortable, with a constant warm wind. The sea was fantastic too. we had lots of fun playing in the surf and on the calm days enjoyed floating and chilling! We would definitely go back! Thanks for an amazing holiday opportunity.
