Porto Antigo Reportedly the best site on Sal, sits on the beautiful sandy beach of Santa Maria. It has a gentle private beach (ideal for children or the not so energetic) with freshwater pool pretty gardens and 2 restaurants on-site (have breakfast on the waters edge) or a romantic drink at sunset. A level 3 min walk to centre with mini-markets, bakery, good restaurants and banks, many cafes and places to sit with drinks. Surfing, wind-surfing and kite boarding lessons and equipment hire very close by, Sal offers Scuba diving and deep sea fishing as well as Quad bike hire all very close to site. Bars offers televised football, Rugby etc etc in a lively and friendly atmosphere and the town has a few nightclubs and late drinks bars,Airport is 10 mins cheap taxi ride away.The beach is private and safe for children it is a secluded walled area of the famous Santa Maria beach,the other beaches are for the strong swimmers and adventure seeking surfers,and kite surfers amongst you.

Kitchen has 4 ring hob, sink and all cutlery and crockery, pots and pans, contains a large fridge/freezer.
Lounge has sofa bed, satellite TV and dining table with seating for 6.
Large Patio area is fenced and is equipped with furniture and partially shaded from sun (which makes dining more comfortable).

Kitchen is equipped with all pots, pans, cutlery and crockery for 6 persons, 4 ring electric hob and large family sized fridge/freezer.

 

Notes on accommodation
Both apartment have air conditioning. Particularly suitable for children, because of the gentle private beach and the freshwater pool. Both pool and beach are in very easy reach/sight of apartment. No 21 (few steps) which is ground floor therefore more suitable to the people that would find stairs difficult.Poolside loungers are free, and no extra charges for electric, water etc, linen changed weekly. Reception open 7 days from 9am-9pm. Iron and board provided, and personal laundry can be paid direct to reception if required.

Accessibility
No 21 which is ground floor could be used by the mobility impaired, it is not specifically constructed for this use, but access to and from apartment makes it very easy with its large patio door entrance and there are no steps.
Location to pool and beach is a few yards/mtrs away from apartment again on the level.
There are a few wide and easy steps into the pool, and (about) 6 to the beach which is a few yards/mtrs further on from the freshwater pool.

Outside
Both apartments have stunning sea views from the patio/balcony area. The private beach and pool can be accessed within a few steps of apt no 21. and the pool area is equipped with loungers. Apartment no 72 which is on the first floor has the view of the vast unspoilt natural public beach that is almost deserted apart from the wind and kite surfers in the distance.

Coast/Beach
Porto Antigo reportedly the best site on Sal, sits on the beautiful sandy beach of Santa Maria.These apartments are located perfectly for all your holiday needs and desires. The walker amongsts you will be in heaven.

Travel
Airport is 10 mins cheap taxi ride away. The Capital Espargos is approx 20mins drive (try the local bus for an experience cost 1 euro).

Distances
A level 3 min walk to town centre with mini-markets, bakery, good restaurants and banks, many cafes, and places to sit with drinks and then you have Tam Tams bar that offers all the televised football, rugby etc in a very friendly atmosphere, there is late drinks bars and local nightclubs.

Further details
Porto Antigo has its very own restaurant and bar (Papayas bar) where you can eat breakfast by the sea, or drinks in the evening listening to the waves lapping the beach on the outside veranda. It also has full internet connexion and is open all day everyday.

The restaurant next door also has good dining and has a covered roof (for shade protection should you want this) and no sides that leave the sea views and the sounds of the sea unaltered in any way. All sorts of many different restaurants are available in Sal from burgers, pizza, fish fingers etc to fine dining the choice is yours.

Booking notes
Booking can be arranged by sending a deposit cheque for 50% and balance paid 6 weeks before departure.

We had the most wonderful time, the locals were all friendly, and the children were made most welcome in the Papyaya Restaurant.
