The apartment is located only 5 minutes walk from the ski lift and is in the very centre of Bansko. Downstairs you can dine in the Irish pub or walk across the street to a number of traditional Bulgarian restaurants with live Macedonian music. Large balcony overlooks the river, the picturesque old town centre, and the mountains. Facilities: sauna, Jacuzzi, pool and steam room (free of charge if you book the apartment), ski storage, discounted bar and restaurant. I can help you arrange all ski or snowboard hire and classes. The apartment is two hours from Sofia airport, one and a half hour from Plovdiv airport and I can help you book transport to and from either airport. Winter activities and interests: skiing, snowboarding, skating, etc. Summer activities and interests: hiking in Pirin mountains, tours to the wonderful Rila Mountain lakes, mountain biking, International Jazz Festival in August.

Skiing
Bansko is located 925m above sea level, and its skiing area is on 2000 - 2600m. The Pirin mountain has a predominantly Alpine character and highest peak in the area is Vihren 2914 m. The total length of the marked pistes is 65km.
I can arrange individual or group ski/snow boarding lessons as well as equipment at very competitive price.

Sofia airport - 105 miles.
Car hire available at the airport.
Taxi can be arranged in advance. I will put you in touch with a number of companies that can provide the transfer.
Distances
Rila Monastery (30 miles North of Bansko) - UNESCO World Cultural Heritage National tourist object. The biggest Bulgarian revival, spiritual and cultural centre established in the 10th century. Large library including 134 manuscripts from 15th to 19th century. Exclusive mural paintings, woodcarving and icons, gold weave materials and embroidery. A multitude of gold and silver church plates, collections of coins, weapons and jewellery.

Hiking - The Pirin Mountains, a glacial landscape of peaks and lakes, offer some of the finest walking in Europe. Named after Perun, the Slavic God of Thunder, over the centuries this area attracted visitors with its mineral waters and 186 pristine lakes. Because of its unique nature, in 1983 UNESCO decided to make Pirin National Park a World Heritage Site to protect the unique landscape and its species.
Jazz - 8-13 of August International Jazz Festival
Each year sees an increasing number of musicians from around the world come to Bansko to take part in the festivities which include concerts, jam-sessions, jazz cafes and seminars, alongside various exhibitions and tourist events.
Booking notes
Bookings can then be secured with a 25% deposit (non-refundable). Balance is to be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. A refundable £100 damage deposit is also required - this can be a post-dated cheque which will only be cashed if damage is caused.
