This beautifully decorated villa provides perfect alpine atmosphere and comfort. Located a short drive from the ski resort of Borovets offering some of Europe's finest skiing, this private mountain location set within a forest of pines offers peace and quiet, whilst at the same time being close to ski lifts, mountain trails, stores, restaurants and other Borovets attractions. This villa provides the opportunity for upto 6 adults and 2 children to have a great value holiday in a beautiful location from around £120 each per week including flights. We usually use either Easyjet or Wizzair and flights start at £50. We have our friend Georgi from the village who will cater for your every need, from stocking wood for the open fire, to helping with ski lift and ski gear hire, and generally making sure you have a great stay.

Notes on accommodation
This is a great location for the family, couples and groups alike and the open fire will keep you warm in the evenings. We can arrange for a car to pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the ski lifts if required.

Outside
The villa includes a large patio area and garden. There is a built in BBQ that is beautiful to sit around and enjoy the mountain views. We have a temporary swimming pool that can be filled during your stay.
Coast/Beach
The villa is situated 5 minutes from Lake Iska. The late offers swimming, beach, restuarants and water sports.
Golf
There are 2 golf courses within 25 minutes drive. The Dolna Banya golf course is the most extensive course in the area. It will cover a huge 750 acres and this is set to expand even more so when extra land is acquired. No expense will be spared on this particular development- luxury and top quality golfing are the main aims.
Skiing
The village is located a short drive from Borovets the biggest and most modern resort in Bulgaria. Winter in the resort is mild and of course with loads of snow! The average temperature during the coldest month January is 4.8ºC. Usually the slopes of Borovets have snow cover from mid December till April. The excellent equipment for ski sports attracts thousands of mountain lovers from Bulgaria and foreign countries. You can use the 45km of varying difficulty and length ski pistes grouped in three regions. The Borovets ski school has been known as one of the best in Bulgaria. There are more than 200 ski instructors fluent in foreign languages and some of them are former professional skiers. Special interest holidays
The village is located within the Rila mountains. This is paradise for skiiers, walkers and climbers. The mountains seem to be a piece of the Alps thrown into the heart of the Balkans with many peaks above 2000m, divided by stunning glacial valleys and lakes. The mountains are considered a very popular place for rock climbers and mountaineers and many foreign climbers. The area is extremely beautiful and offers sites such as a 100m waterfall, overhanging 300m red granite walls, centuries-old forests, beautiful lakes and rivers. One of the most popular areas is the seven Rila lakes. Situated one above the other the lakes form a brilliant necklace of crystal blue water basins.
Travel
The villa is situated a 45 minutes to and hour to an hour from Sofia airport. Flights are readily available. Easyjet and Wizzair tend to be the cheapest. We would recommend a car otherwise we can arrange for private airport pick up and lifts to the ski lifts.

As part of our service to provide you with a stress free holiday we can offer to help arrange low cost equipment hire and lift passes. (2009 prices) Please check the exchange rate for idea of the current cost. Prices are as follows: Board/boots/bindings package for 20-30 levs per day. Monday - Friday lift pass = full day 55 levs. Saturday - Sunday lift pass = full day 32 levs. Night skiing lift pass = 16 levs.
Booking notes
A holding deposit of £150 is payable on confirmation of booking. The balance of payment is due 8 weeks from your arrival date. A refundable £150 security deposit is required and returnable in final inspection.

About the owner
I live in Ipswich with my wife and 2 children young children. Together with my parents we decided to make an investment in Bulgaria 3 years ago. We found a beautiful plot of land just outside the ski resort of Borovets. We've been extremely lucky to find a fantastic builder, architect and interior designer. Together we have worked on the building project that has now delivered such a fantastic house for us.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The land, and the build of the property was an investment that I made with my parents in 2007.
We originally decided to take the plunge into foreign property investment because the location of the plot is so special. The plan was to move the house on hopefully at a profit.
However, since the house was finished in September 2009 we have fallen in love with it, and we've decided to keep it using it for family holidays and a few rentals to help pay for the up keep.
Unique benefits of the property
We think this house is beautifully decorated and extremely cosy on those cold snowy evenings. We love it because when you visit it takes you back in time, the villagers of Shipochane still wash clothes in the stream, and we always look forward to the shepherds bringing the sheep back through our garden each evening.
Whilst you can enjoy the sense of really getting away from it all, its only a short drive to Samokov where you can buy a London standard three course meal with good wine for under ten pounds per head, and of course Borovets is very close for the skiing.
