Golf
The new Pirin Golf and Country Club is on the outskirts of Bansko within a 10 min drive of the apartment.
Skiing
Bansko is Bulgaria's largest and most up and coming ski and snowboard resort. Bansko benefits from a long ski season from December/April. The slopes are accessed via the modern Gondola which takes 20 minutes and snow cannons on a large number of runs ensure you have snow. Bankso has a range of tree lined runs suitable for beginners (35%) and intermediate (40%) with a few blacks for the experts. Hire of quality modern equipment and ski pass are much cheaper than in the alps. English speaking instructors can be hired by the hour or in groups. With a total ski area of 65km including the 16km uninterrupted run from Todorka Peak (2600m) back to the Gondola, there is something for everyone. We can arrange an individual instructor or ski school for you if you require and assist with ski hire and lift pass etc.
Travel
Bansko is situated 160km from Sofia airport. We can arrange tranfers on your behalf for 90 Euro per car each way or you can hire your own car. Sofia is served by BA, Air Bulgaria, Wizz Air and Easy Jet.
Distances
Bansko is on a Plateau surrounded by mountain ranges. All amenities are easily accessible in the town. South of Bansko is situated the Pirin National Park which is in the Unesco list for cultural and natural sightseeing.
Further details
The town of Bansko is open all year, it is full of quaint historic buildings. The beautiful church dominates the main square which holds a jazz festival in the summer months. Bansko has many traditional Bulgarian restaurants along with western restaurants to cater for all tastes at a fraction of UK prices. Banks, shops, ice skating, 10 pin bowling, swimming and mountain biking and a lively nightlife are all available locally.
