Towels and bedlinen are included, cleaning takes place at the end of each week (daily visits by a maid can be arranged). |

Skiing
Borovets is the largest and most popular ski resort in Bulgaria situated in the Rila Mountains. A wide range of slopes are available suitable for total beginners through to the experts whether you are skiing or snowboarding. Ski/board lessons can be booked at the resort for all abilities. The centre of the resort is situated just 15 mins drive from the house - transfers by private mini bus can be arranged or buses and taxis are also available. Night skiing/boarding is available most nights until 10pm. Ski/board hire and boot hire is available from many hire depots in the centre at a cost of around half that of French resorts, skis and boots can be left at the depot each night. Ski lift passes are also priced around half that of a French resort and are purchased from the gondola station in the centre. Children’s activities include sleigh and bumboard hire, horse and cart trips, ski lessons for juniors, indoor bowling and a kindergarten are also available in the hotels.
Travel
Sofia airport is approx 1 hour from Raduil (transfers by mini bus can be arranged for a small charge) alternatively car hire is available from the airport (recommended in summer). Flights are available from the following airline Easyjet, Wizz air, British airways and Bulgaria Air.
Distances
Borovets ski resort 15 min drive (hiking in the summer). Local village centre 5 min walk. Nearest town Samokov 30 mins drive. Lake Iska 45 mins drive (water sports, fishing, restaurants etc).
Further details
Rila monastery is close by and worth a visit in summer. Bulgaria rally goes through the village of Raduil in July. The local area is renown for its natural spas. Local hotel has outdoor swimming pool open in the summer (small fee payable).

'Staying in the village has the benefit of experiencing Bulgarian culture, hospitality and extremely good value for money, whilst you could also enjoy the bustling nightlife of Borovets. It was great to be able to ski all day (and evening) at a fraction of the cost of other ski holidays.
