We offer luxury accommodation for four people. Large groups can be accommodated by renting the house next door or one nearby. The house is tastefully furnished and has a traditional open plan living room with dining area, cosy home warming wood burning fire as well as central heating. There are two sofas, dining table, flat screen satellite TV and DVD. All ideally positioned for you to wrap up warm, sip a glass of mulled wine (or a local brew) and watch the sun disappear over the snow capped Rhodope Mountains. There is an a la carte restaurant within a 2 minute walk of the house - superb food at good prices - open for breakfast until late. Other activities include swimming pool with hot tub and reception building. Skidoos rides, horse riding, snow tubing, quad bikes and other activities can be arranged for you. We can arrange your ski lessons, lift passes and equipment hire before you travel. Sledges can be hired at the slopes. Free shuttle to the slopes.

Forest Nook 3 - approx 5 minutes - has an underground disco and nightclub (loud music, clubbing)
A lot of the restaurants in the centre of the resort offer free transport. Recently visited Gloria Mar. They came as requested on time and we just let them know when we were ready to leave. Food was absolutely fantastic and all our party decided we would eat there a few more times next season.

Outside
The villa has its own garden area and patio. Forest Nook village has its own reception building, a la carte restaurant and outdoor swimming pool/jacuzzi.

Coast/Beach
Pamporovo is an ideal summer destination. Fishing, horse riding, mountain biking, walking/hiking, quad biking, canoeing, hunting and bird watching. Places of interest include rock formations (the Miraculous bridges near the villa of Kosovo, the 'elephant' near Devin and 'the maiden' resembling a standing woman on the outskirts of Shiroka Luca. The Yagodinska Cave/Yagodina and the Buinova Gorge. The Trigad Gorge is the most impressive natural site in Bulgaria.

Golf
The brand new Perelik Golf Course is being built at the foot of the Rhodopi Mountains.

Skiing
Pamporovo is probably one of the best places in the world to learn to ski and has just benefited from the opening of a brand new state of the art ski lift, being the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula and ranked second in Europe. This lift has enabled the ski season to be extended by using the wonderful conditions of ski tracks on the northern slopes and now takes the total length of ski tracks in Pamporovo to 25km. It's ideal for families as it does not suffer from the extreme conditions of many other European ski destinations. Although particularly suited to beginners and intermediates, its Giant Slalom run really taxes the experts too. Lift pass costs are cheap compared to other European resorts! All ski lifts operate from 8.30 am - 4.30 pm and the shuttle service is available to take you to the slopes each day. In the resort itself Pamporovo offers a whole host of contemporary bars, restaurants, shops and other facilities catering for the tourist's every need.

Special interest holidays
During the winter months there are lots of additional activities such as snow tubing, ski-doos, horse riding, quad bikes etc. Tried and tested - absolutely fantastic driving through the snow covered pine forests. There's also a husky dog ride for the children at the slopes, sledge hire, climbing and walking locally.

Food and drink is very cheap as lev is still used in Bulgaria and not the euro.

During the summer months its a holiday with a difference - as well as beautiful scenary you can take part in trekking with a guide, fishing and hunting, outdoor paintball, horse riding and alpine climbing.

You can also relax at the villa and make use of the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, with the beautiful surroundings of the pine forest around you.

Travel
Fly direct from most local airports to Plovdiv during the winter months – 85k from Pamporovo. Alternatively save money by flying direct from your local airport, Manchester or London to Sofia (220KM from resort). Book online at Easyjet.com, Bulgaria Air, British Airways. Flights from Luton to Sofia are fairly cheap with Wizz Air. Airline Network.Ryanair from Stansted to Plovdiv starting August 2010. We can collect return you to the airport or provide directions if you prefer to drive yourself.

Distances
Smolyan is the nearest village outside of Pamporovo, full of superb restaurants and many shops and is approx 20 minutes. Ancient Plovdiv (approx one hour drive) is contemporary to Troy and there are Roman ruins and Roman roads. The Roman Amphitheatre is still in use today. The lovely old town has been restored to its mid 19th century appearance. Plovdiv is definitely worth a visit. Ask at reception if you would like to book an excursion.

Further details
Apres-ski in Pamporovo is fun and inexpensive compared to other ski resorts. With BJs bar in the lobby of Hotel Perelik, Dak's Bar on the ground floor of Hotel Snejanka, Night Flight in the Hotel Rojen (new and largest disco in Pamporovo). Party at The Spider Night Club at the White Hart Pub in the centre of the resort. There's also the local folk restaurants that serve traditional local specialities with some extremely palatable Bulgarian wines. Pamporovo is for the future (as well as today): Recently plans have been put in place to link Pamporovo's Perelik peak with Smolyan and its lakes. There are also plans to link Pamprovo with Mechi Chai, the nearby ski resort at Chepelare. For those wanting to ski on longer red runs this will be a great bonus. Advanced skiiers and snowboarders can already ski/snowboard to Chepelare (wtih a guide/instructor). It is a short drive away. It is hoped this will transform the Rhodopi mountains into the biggest ski area in Bulgaria.

We are not far from the Greek Aegean coast. A new road has been built through the mountains to Xanthi (via Zlatograd) which has reduced the journey time to just 90 minutes.

We can arrange for you to be collected and returned from Sofia or Plovdiv airports and taken direct to your villa - please ask for a quote on booking. Car hire is available once there if you would prefer to be collected from the airport but make your own way about once you are there - please ask for details.
