Perched on the edge of a wooded hillside, overlooking a small ravine with a stream, this self-catering cottage provides some breathtaking views of the surrounding forest and the green pastures, stretching out on the facing slopes. Its rural location, not far from the sea and the City of Varna, has everything to offer to the holiday-makers who wish to stay off the beaten track of traditional seaside areas, and allows for genuine peace and quiet. Away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded tourist resorts, yet in close proximity to the beaches along the Varna coast, it is ideal for families with young children, country and nature lovers of all ages. It is just an 18 min drive north from both Varna International Airport and the motorway to Sofia, 20 min from the City of Varna, and 25 min from the resorts of Golden Sands and Albena, 12 min from the nearest beach.

Changeover day
Saturday is the preferred changeover day, however it is not fixed. Arrival time is expected to be after 4pm, and departure time - before 10am. This is due to the time required to clean and prepare the property for the next guests.
| Bedrooms: | There are two double-bed and 2 twin-bedrooms, plainly but tastefully furnished with sufficient hanging and other storage space. All bedrooms have an open view to the surrounding hills or the pool. |
| Bathrooms: | There are 2 identical bathrooms with shower cabins, wc and washing basins. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with a cooker, hob, fridge with small freezing compartment (with an extra larger fridge-freezer in the utility room), washing machine, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. |

| Living Rooms: | There is an open-plan living room with a dining area for 8 persons, sofas, a small decorative fireplace, TV with satellite dish and DVD player. |

Towels and linen are provided for the number of guests expected and a change is offered weekly. The grounds around the house, including the pool area are maintained free of charge and maid service is also provided at no extra cost. |

Notes on accommodation
The house is suitable for families with young children. The swimming pool is securely fenced and can only be shared from time to time with the owners, no other third parties. However, a priority of use is given to the guests.
Accessibility
The property has not been adapted for wheelchair users.
Outside
The swimming pool is securely fenced, 8x4 m (1.1 m at the shallow end, 1.8 m at the deep end), with an additional shallow round section for children or non-swimmers (0.7 m deep). Reclining chairs are provided. A barbecue area includes a fitted barbecue, and a table with 8 chairs. Further small tables and chairs are situated on the patio in front of the house.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach of Sunny Day Co can be found at approx. 15 km. The busy summer resorts of Albena and Golden Sands provide wide sandy beaches with plenty of activities. Varna City itself has a 5 km long beach running along the Sea Gardens, a well-known landmark in town.
Golf
The Black Sea Rama Golf Course, near the town Balchik (approx 30km north), an 18-hole course designed by Gary Player, has been completed and opened in August 2009.
Special interest holidays
The Aquapolis, Water Park at the Golden sands resort (22 km from the cottage) provides great entertainment for children and adults alike. Pony riding for children is also available at the village.
Travel
The nearest airport is Varna International Airport (23km) with regular flights operated by British Airways, Wizzair, Malev and Bulgaria Air, along with the seasonal charter flights by Thomsons, First Choice, Balkan Holidays and other tour operators. Car hire is highly recommended for mobility, although public transport to Varna can also be used with approx 10 buses a day running between Varna and the village. Taxis are another alternative.
Distances
The nearest village, Kitchevo is at 7km south, on the way to Varna. It has a post office, a pharmacy, and a petrol station.
Varna is at 18 km, Golden Sands at 22km, and Albena - at 20km.
Further details
Oreshak village is relatively small. It has a couple of shops, of which the main one is at the centre, by the bus stop. The village has a small church operated at weekends, a Village Hall and a Farm. Donkey rides are sometimes organised in the summer and guests might get a 'safari jeep' trip from the village. Hiking in the vicinity of the village, down to the brook and around is another opportunity for nature lovers. There are no restaurants in the village.
Booking notes
Bookings are made by payment of an advance ranging between 10% and 50% depending on the time of booking. Balance payments are expected 45 days before arrival, but no later than 31 May. Payments in cash on arrival can be accepted for very late bookings.

We are a mixed British/Bulgarian family who have lived in Oreshak since 2001 where we have built this summer home close to our own house. We believe in offering the visitor an unadulterated experience of a genuine Bulgarian village, enhanced by a location with beautiful views, while striving to provide privacy and comfort.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought the land and built Lavender cottage in 2004 close to our home. We love our location at the edge of the village for the open views and tranquility it provides. It is remote, yet not too far from the choice of facilities and urban life Varna has to offer as a city, and the numerous resorts along the regional Black Sea coast.
