Outside
Lush palm-surrounded gardens with fountain. Swimming in the river is safe. Large swimming hole at the foot of the garden. We ask residents not to swim during the Platypus feeding times.
Hundreds of birds abound in the rainforest and every morning and evening is a chorus of chatter and birdsong. The rapids in the river below set the mood for the background of peace and space.
Coast/Beach
Cabarita beach is 30 minute drive away. Lovely wide clean beaches and headlands. Great for surfing or walking.
40 minutes from famous Byron Bay.
Golf
Nearest golfing is at Gold Coast. 30 minutes away.
Special interest holidays
Pottery, painting classes, life drawing and other workshops and frequently held in the old butter factory in the town. Contact us if you would like to join these.

30 minutes drive from Colangatta (Gold Coast) airport (Convent car can also collect you).

A short walk away is the historic town of Uki, where pottery studios, groovy cafes and markets are the main attractions. Most facilities available in the town including banking.
10 minutes away is the towering granite peak of Mt Warning. If you are fit, take the 5 hour return climb to the summit and view the 150km extinct volcanic cauldron that forms the topgraphy of our lush region.
